Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
This cake was amazing. It held its shape well, was dense and while not moist, not terrible dry either. It lacked a good chocolately flavor, but I rolled out a can of almond paste and topped it all with tart cherry spread. Heaven. Pure, simple heaven. Will continue making this for all my cake needs.

Fish in Foil

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
We tried variants on this recipe, but this is the best way for occasional fish eaters to cook it! Easy to cook.

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
I cook the peppers in the microwave for five minutes to speed up the process, but otherwise followed the recipe. My picky eater loved them!

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
Delicious. I can eat a whole bunch of kale by myself this way and it keeps me out of the potato chip bag!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
My boyfriend loved this. I think I'll try marinating the meat overnight before when I try again. Previous suggestions that I took up were: Half the oil, teriyaki sauce instead of soy, and a sprinkle of garlic into the sauce.

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
Two people almost ate the entire roast. I followed suggestions from other reviews and added spices to the flour. Threw the browned roast into the oven with water and the mushroom soup, plus fresh garlic. At hour 1.5, I added potatoes and carrots. Delicious!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
Delicious! I brushed the meat with a mix of oil, salt, pepper and powdered garlic, then cooked three pork chops in a cast iron skillet. I only used a single apple with thin slices and it was perfect. I can't wait to show this one off to the family.

Michelle's Peanut Butter Dots

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
These are excellent for a late night snack, or for those allergic to eggs! I doubled the recipe, because I knew we'd eat all the cookies in one day if I only made one batch. Because I used a sweeter peanut butter, I cut out 1/2cup of sugar - this turned out to be the perfect balance. I also used 2/3cup of butter for each batch of butter (a total of 1 1/3cups). Turned out quite well! Baked two trays each at 12minutes.

Brenda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
I've never eaten lasagna before, let alone cooked it. This recipe was easy to follow and come out pretty darn good. Needs more spices and like other reviewers said, a little more sauce. I also would say use basil and thyme! I look forward to trying this again, with a mix of Italian sausage and beef.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This was delicious! It turned out I didn't have a muffin pan and my bread loaf pan is mysteriously missing, so I baked the "muffins" in a cast-iron skillet! The banana bread-round turned out moist and tasty, even with the few changes I'd made: -1 egg = 1/4 cup applesauce -3/4 cup sugar = 1/3cup And the bananas were frozen, which made mixing everything a little difficult, but it all turned out great!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
This recipe is delicious! Made my first batch in a friend's kitchen without my usual appliances and it still turned out amazingly. Someone in the reviews suggested you use the end of a chapstick tube for the "thumbprints" and I'm very glad I did. They were just the right size! I used strawberry jam instead of raspberry and they still turned out fantastic, and I plan to experiment with various types. Cheerio!
