Cinnamon Corn
I was so excited about this recipe but it didn't go over very well at my Christmas dinner. I read the reviews & cut the sugar in half. I also used half & half instead of evaporated milk because that's what I had. I am going to make it again & leave the cinnamon sugar off the top & see how that works. Everyone said it was fine but I had a lot left over.

Ham and Split Pea Soup Recipe - A Great Soup
Oh, yum! I made this mostly as written until the end when I decided on the spur of the moment to add diced baby carrots & potatoes as some reviewers suggested & then - just to get rid of them - i threw in half a package of frozen peas & carrots. I had a ham bone from Christmas with a ton of ham on it & I used that broth instead of chicken stock. I like cumin but would have never thought to use it but I'm glad I did! I loved the flavor of it in this soup! My DH was impressed as well so I know I will make this again & again! It's a very forgiving recipe. I'm thinking of adding roasted corn the next time. Served with homemade cornbread for a hearty meal on this cold evening!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
I think this recipe, as written, would be pretty bland so I made a few changes. I used chicken broth instead of water, season the frozen chicken breasts with poultry seasoning, ground cumin, salt & black cracked pepper. After 6 hrs I shredded the chicken breasts, 2 cans of Pillsbury Grand biscuit dough cut some into 4 pieces some into 6. pushed them well into the soup liquid. It took quite a long time for the biscuit dough to cook & some of them actually browned & it was quite salty! Still it was very good. Only enough left over for lunch the next day. I liked this very much & will certainly make again but I intend to play around with the seasoning some.
