Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
Used frozen cube steaks. Put worcestershire sauce directly on steaks. Used cream of mushroom soup with roasted garlic. Added 3 garlic cloves. Used 1/2 c. of merlot wine instead of water and added 1T corn starch. Added 8oz fresh baby bella mushrooms 1 hr before end with the lite sour cream. Used whole wheat egg noodles. Steamed broccoli on the side...a delicious dinner. The steak was so tender that when stirring the mushrooms and sour cream in, the steaks broke up into pieces so I didn't have to cut them!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
Great flavorful soup. I made it in the slow cooker and used olive oil instead of bacon fat. Omitted the bacon all together. Let it cook all day so the potatoes were soft. Great to come home to after being out at cold soccer games!

Soft Mahi Mahi Tacos with Ginger-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
This is a keeper! I season the fish with Simply Organic fish taco seasoning and than only add a hint of cumin to the sc mixture. The sour cream is awesome! Instead of ginger root I use a ginger paste from the produce section. Also, I use a great fresh peach salsa from the produce section instead of making my own, that makes these super quick!

Buttery Corn Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
Good recipe I make with whole wheat flour. I tried using coconut oil in one attempt and it was good but too much coconut flavor. I add a can of cream corn to the recipe before baking and it stays super moist!

Brick-Oven Pizza (Brooklyn Style)

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
It was good, and I'll probably use again, but I like the crust thinner so maybe I make more pizzas with the same recipe next time. The crushed tomatoes were WAY too runny so while I love the concept, I'll have to try to find something else for that.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
Made this recipe without breading the chicken. I added mored veggies. It was good...basically used it for the sauce which was great. I did not add the food coloring. Served over brown rice.

Pam's Bierocks

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
Made the bread with 4c whole wheat flour and 2.5c bread flour. Made the filling with ground turkey breast and added salt free seasoning plus thyme and sage. It was good and eaten by all! Had enough dough left to make 12 mini cinnamon rolls for dessert:)

Grain and Nut Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
Love this recipe!! Add lemon juice to milk instead of buttermilk because that's what I usually have on hand. Recipe as is BARELY feeds my family of six. I also just use oat flour rather than process my own.

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
Easier than my mom's recipe and just as good! I'm trying it with blueberries tonight. We didn't have shortening so we used Nutiva organic coconut oil which is like shortening at room temp. I also doubled the peaches and added nutmeg. Turned out great!

Mexican Rice II

Good recipe. I add a half packet of La Tiara taco seasoning with great results and Spanish Gardens taco sauce instead of plain tomato sauce. Great addition!

Bread Machine Garlic Bread

Great garlic bread. I prefer the Italian Bread from this site made in the bread machine though with added garlic. It came out well, just prefer the other one for flavor with added garlic.

I get rave reviews and an empty dish! Sometimes I substitute 1/2 c. of cream for 1/2 c. of milk and it's decadent.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
Taste is right on! I made so many for Christmas give aways and they are so labor intensive that I don't want to make another truffle again for a long time. The ingredients are deceptive. So easy to make the filling. Rolling them all in chocolate is soooo time consuming for a large batch.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
The new standby in pizza crust! I put all ingredients in the bread machine (I make 1 1/2 recipes for 2 large pizzas) on the dough make option only. It's ready in about 1hr to 1 1/2 hrs. and saves us money on pizza and makes great pizza dough and we are discriminating pizza eaters! It's good with the standard pizzas or BBQ chicken pizza or Thai. Very versatile.
