Thai Pumpkin Soup

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

this recipe is easy and a real time saver but i didn't like the taste. it reminded me alot of instant mashed potatoes. everyone else liked them. my dad absolutly raved and he's very hard to please. everything else was great (texture, consistancy, etc). make sure you stir before serving. i also mixed some melted butter and frehly ground pepper into it before i put it out. that improved it quite a bit. thanks for the recipe.

Chocolate-Peanut Mousse Pie

yum! everyone who rated this pie gave it 5 stars and everyone said it was "very good." the best part about this pie was the taste. the peanut butter layer oozed into empty section of the pie plate when cut though. it wasn't runny but was very very soft. you should definately cut it right out of the fridge like we did and mabey try freezing it. this probably won't be as much of a problem if you use peanuts in that layer, as directed. that would give that layer extra stability. i left them out because i don't like peanuts in dessert, only peanut butter. ironic, huh? just in case you are wondering, i chilled it longer 4 hours, more like 12. thanks for the recipe. it was good, but i'm still looking for the perfect peanut butter and choclate layered pie.

Country Sausage Gravy

this is the best gravy we've ever had! i didn't have a green bell pepper but it was good without it. i had to use dry herbs, so i lessened the amounts (1/3 tsp dried sage & half that amount of dried thyme because it's more potent) and added them earlier in the cooking. just add a sprinkle of parsley. 1/4 cup is way too much for my taste. if i ever get fresh herbs, i'll use them in this recipe. i'm sure it's even better with fresh herbs. this recipe tastes amazing. thank you!

Bacon and Cheddar Mashed Potatoes

very good. i used mayo instead of miracle whip. the flavor is much better. you might need to add some liquid or the potatoes will be too thick for most people. some people said this dish was bland, but half of them used sour cram. sour cream can easily turn something bland if too much is used, and that's very easy too do when the other ingredients used aren't very assertive. i thought this side dish was homey and tasty. thanks.

Baked Potato Soup I

this is the best potato soup recipe i've ever tried as well as the best potato soup i've ever had. it is one of my husband's favorites. he asks for it all the time. some suggestions: be sure to cook the roux constantly, from the time you combine the butter and flour. one time i took it off the heat to combine and blend the flour to prevent it from burning and the finished soup wasn't half as good. also, be sure not to use too much sour cream. if you do it makes the soup too bland. excellent recipe. thanks!
