Carne Guisada III

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
to make this real puerto rican carne guisada you have to add a hand full or more (depending on how much you like olives they taste slightly different when cooked) of stuffed olives or green olives with the seeds still in them in the first five minutes while your cooking the sofrito. other then that this is exactly how my PR native MIL taught me how to make this i add alot more sofrito to the mix *wink cant ever get enough of that Puerto Rican lovin

Deviled Corned Beef Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
i didnt much care for the tang in it. i make it all the time similar to this. i omit the ketchup and add 1/2 small can tomato sauce. i omit the worcestire sauce and green onions. i use onion, red peper, green pepper, cilantro, garlic and sazon in a processor. ( home made seasoning called sofrito is what that is) and i mix up some fried plaintains in there which give it a lovely sweet taste. add a little bit of water to moisten

Caribbean White Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
excellent instead of the green pepper, onion, garlic, cilantro i used my home made sofrito (almost same thing). i omited the bouillon and salt and added some diced ham and throw it into the sofrito when your simmering it in the beginning and a couple diced olives never hurt anything :) but i dont use them all time. great recipe!!

Chicken Scampi

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
this is an awsome recipe. you can use the sauce for many diffrent things. instead of chicken I add cooked frozen thawed shrimp. Secret to this sauce is add a bit of dried parsley. if it gets to thick add some more water to it you almost can't ruin it. Great over rice or vegatables. Was going to try it over some spaghetti squash.
