Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2006
After reading the other reviews, I made a few changes and the dish turned out great. I cut the butter and brown sugar glaze in half and cut way back on the chicken broth. I mixed the stuffing with my hands and added the broth just a little at a time. It was easy to not create soggy dressing. I added chopped dried fruit which gave the stuffing a sweetness that went well with the brown sugar. I also changed the spices to what I had on hand.

Cherry Crumble

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2006
I added chopped pecans, shredded coconut, 1 TSP allspice, and 2 extra TBSP butter to the dough. I also used lite cherry filling. These changes gave the crumble terrific flavor. I am going to try apple filling next. Possibly two cans for more fruit.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2006
These pork chops are very good. I tripled the marinade, poured half over the chops and refrigerated the pan for several hours. The chops turned out very tender with good flavor. It does help to drain the pan halfway through the cooking time as others have suggested.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2002
Very easy and fast. I used peaches packed in 100% fruit juice and only a 3oz box of jello in order to cut back on the sugar.

Ambrosia Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2002
Use a 16oz container of cool whip and cut out the spices or half them. The spices overpowered the fruit.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2002
I doubled the topping and the bread was still bland, bland, bland. The topping does not swirl into the batter well. You are left with a crumb top that gets all over everything when you take it out of the pan or cut it. Stick to coffee cake.

Pork Chops a la Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2002
Very, very tender. You can cut these with a fork! The chops remind me of a slow cooked pork roast. For those of you who enjoy a harder pork chop skip this one. I added water to dilute the chicken soup taste and cooked the chops on high for 4 hrs. The flavor was wonderful. I served ours with wild rice and green beans.

Mediterranean Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2002
Great Chicken! I used the juice of two lemons and added a bit more pepper and oregano. I usually up the spices in most recipes for added flavor. I used bone-in chicken breasts and the cooking time was just right. They turned out nicely browned and very flavorful. The basting requires you to stand guard in the kitchen but the taste is worth it!

Onion Soup Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2002
The pork turns out so tender! Make sure to use only the onion soup mix packet or the spices that come with the rice. I used both the first time and the flavor was a little much. I season the pork chops while browning and cut down on the water to what the rice box calls for. I have now made this recipe with both the soup packet and the spice packet and my family loves both. This one will become a family classic!

Great tasting sauce. I am now using this as the base for all my Italian dishes. I usually double the batch and freeze a portion for another use.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2002
The taste was great but the chicken thighs turned out overdone and tough. I would cook at a lower temp. As others have stated, it might help to leave the skin on and/or cover with foil. Warning: Even though I greased the pan as the recipe calls for the sauce made a burned mess in the bottom of my glass pan and smoked up my kitchen (at 425 deg). It was not fun to clean up. The sauce takes a long time to thicken (20 min over low). I will not be making again. To much work for the everyday kind of meal that it is.

Chicken and Stuffing

So, So. I don't think I will be making this one again. To much onion, it overpowers. A half an onion would be enough. Very salty as well.

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2001
This is soooo good! I made it with Louis Rich Southwestern Carving Board fully cooked chicken. This saves time and adds some extra zip. Spicy but my family loves spicy flavors. A little to spicy for small children.
