Perfect Lemon Curd

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
This is the best. I use it all the time to make lemon tarts and also use it as a spread on tea biscuits and toast. If it were possible I would rate it a ten.I've given the recipe to my eldest sone and it has become his signature recipe for lemon tarts. Whenever he is invited to a dinner party ( after many hints )he opts to provide the dessert made with this and boughten tart shells. For a nice quick dessert put a tart on a dessert plate top with some fresh raspberries and add a swirl of melted good dark chocolate around the rim of the tart.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
I made these scones to take to a ceilidh which our Dragon Boat Breast Cancer Survivor Team hosted for 150 people and they were a hit. I made 4 times the recipe . Just changed the quantity from 8 to 32 and went from there. I have made a lot of recipes for scones, but I think these have to be the best . I will definitely make them again and can't wait to see what a single batch will turn out like. Thanks again All Recipes for another tested recipe.

Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
This recipe rates more than 5 stars.I cooked a 3.7 lb of flat brisket in my slow cooker from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm on low and used 2 cans of Alpine beer plus 2 cups of water to cover it with about an inch above the meat. I added the peppercorns, garlic plus the spice packet. I let the meat sit for about 20 mins before slicing and it was wonderful. I strained some of the liquid into my dutch oven and used it to cook my vegetablse. I used small red potatoes unpeeled, baby carrots and after about 15 mins of these cooking I added my cabbage which was cut into wedges. My family who were here for dinner agreed it was the best corned beef dinner they have ever had. Thanks again All Recipes for another " favorite ".

Excellent recipe. I used 1/2 and 1/2 and the coconut milk and corn starch in place of the flour.

Apple, Cranberry, and Pear Crisp

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2006
Wonderful! I didn't have the variety of apples and pears celled for in the recipe and I used what I had on hand and I have substituted fresh frozen cranberries for the dried and it still turned out .Got a lot of compliments on this recipe.

Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2005
I changed this recipe somewhat, but it was the best steak I've ever barbequed.I used about 1 1/2 lb of top sirloin to which I added a small amount of salt and pepper to both sides , seared it on both sides at high heat and then cooked it on the grill for about 8 to 10 mins. I roasted a whole head of garlic in the oven at 350 for about 20 to 30 mins. I added roasted garlic to approx. 1/4 cup of butter and when the steak was done I transfered it to a platter and spread the butter mixture on it and let it sit for a few minutes. My niece was visiting for dinner and she said it was the best steak she'd ever had. This is how I'll cook my steak from now on.

Butterscotch Sauce

Reviewed: May 16, 2005
I tried this and it is excellent. I had no trouble with the egg as I cooked the sauce in a double boiler and used a whisk to stir it while cooking.

High Flavor Bran Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2003
I've finally found the perfect whole wheat bread. I added an egg the recipe and used the dough setting on my bread mixer. I shaped the dough into two round loaves and placed each on a greased cookie sheet and baked at 375 for about 33 minutes.I found this to be the most moist of all the grain breads I've tried and I will definitely be making it again.
