Grilled Apple and Swiss Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2013
This sounded so unusual that I had to try it. I don't know how this works, but wow, it does. I used rye bread(had on hand), shredded Jarlsberg Swiss, and a Pipin apple. I also added a few bacon bits. I coated my bread with mayo as my momma taught me to do. Simple, filling, and SO tasty. I think the key is to slice the apples thin as recipe stated. I also layered cheese, apples, then again cheese. My husband even raved about it even tho shocked at the ingredients! Definitely adding this to our regulars. Yum

Burgundy Roast Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
Wow! The hardest part of this perfectly simple recipe is having to endure the aroma for 4 hours (mine finished in 4). It came out fork tender not stringy. No mess simple clean up. There is no wine taste, just perfectly seasoned gravy. I did use fresh mushrooms vs. canned since I had them. I normally "doctor" recipes but not this one. The only addition I made was dried minced garlic. I may try this out in my crockpot next time...but definatly making this again!!!

Sauerbraten V

Great recipe. I marinated for 72hrs as tradition states, used less sour cram as was suggested, and added carrots & potatoes the last hour for a complete meal. Entire family impressed!
