Balsamic Tortellini

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
My family REALLY enjoyed this recipe! It was quick and very tasty. We're huge balsamic vinegar fans so we really enjoyed the tang of it and will be making again! The directions were a tad confusing with the 2Tof oil in #3, I just used a sprinkle to "coat" the tortellinis and then added the balsamic. I also subbed bacon for the pancetta. My toddler LOVED it, I was uncertain so gave him some without the balsamic and some with and to my surprise he wouldn't eat the plain ones but devoured the ones with balsamic vinegar. Thanks for an excellent recipe!!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
WOW! This was really good and will be a regular in my house. It was so easy and tasty. I used Franks Wing Sauce which was 12 oz and I used around 8-9 oz and that was plenty. There is no way I would use a 17.5oz bottle or it would be way too spicy for my family. It was too spicy for my toddler but I took out some chicken before I shredded it and he ate that but wouldn't eat the saucy chicken. However the hubs and I thought it had the right amount of spice with the 8-9oz of sauce. Thanks for a great recipe!!

YUMMY!!! I can't believe I've forgotten to rate this little gem! My family eats ice cream year round and we LOVE this. We do make it like MySweetCreations recommends and use 1cup of yellow but otherwise follow the recipe! Thanks so much for sharing. This was our first homemade icecream recipe to try out and I'm so glad we did!

Rice Balls a la Tim

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
I've never had a rice ball and was very curious to try this especially since they're baked and not fried! This went over really well with my family. My toddler even dug right into it and cleaned his plate!!! I followed the recipe exact, except I used Italian bread crumbs because thats all I use. I used my cookie scoop and it made 25 balls! Way more than we needed but we'll eat the leftovers for lunch this week :-) I baked for 30 minutes than put the broiler on high for a few minutes and they were nice and crispy!! We didn't find these bland at all! I used Prego traditional sauce since we had some leftover that needed to be used! Served with texas cheese toast. Thanks Queenbee28, I'll def make these again!

Fake-Out Neopolitan Ice Cream Dessert

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
WOW!!!! This was so tasty and a great spin off of Chocolate Eclair Dessert!!! I had to check a few stores before I found the Strawberry Creme pudding and i'm so glad I found it! The strawberry creme def takes this to a whole new level!! My whole family enjoyed this and I'll def be making this one again! I followed the recipe exact except, I did skip the step to refrigerate for 20 minutes because I was being impatient and wasn't for sure the strawberry creme pudding would last that long!!! :-) Thanks for another keeper Mis7up!!!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I made a big batch of this a few months ago. We have really enjoyed it and have been perfecting the measurments to my families liking. We have found that 2T of taco seasoning and 1t cornstarch dissolved in 3/4C water works best for us. We've used it in a ton of different recipes from AR and our own recipes. We love this and will not go back to buying expensive taco packets. We use to only use Old Elpaso and now this is our go to! THANKS SO MUCH for the wonderful recipe!

Alfredo Mostaccioli

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
Flavor wise this is great. I served this as a dipping sauce for Cheesy Chicken Meatballs. I followed the recipe with no subs. It was a tad salty so next time I'll leave the salt out since cheese is naturally a bit salty. In the saucepan it seemed to be melted all the way but as it sat and I was dipping my meatball I noticed that the cheese was clumping up. I will probably try to make this again because I love alfredo and this had a great rich taste. I just need to work on getting the parm to melt all the way.

Brazilian White Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
WOW!! This was a VERY nice way to jazz up white rice! I usually only buy brown rice but this was suggested to me so I bought white rice to try it! I followed the recipe as is and it turned out perfect! My hubs kept telling me how wonderful it smelled while I was cooking it! So glad Crazy Cat Lady "CCL" and K-dub recommened this to me because honestly I would haven't come across the dish myself! I'll be making this dish again!! :)

Cheesy Chicken Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2010
This was my first time cooking with ground chicken. Overall we were pleased and it was all eaten. I couldn't find the garlic cream cheese so I subbed laughing cow garlic and herb cheese. I also used one egg and cut the red pepper flakes in 1/2 since my 2yr old would be eating this with us. I used my cookie scoop to form the meatball and I had no problem with them holding together. It was a nice change of pace and I might make it again if I was to buy more ground chicken. I served with Brazilian White Rice and Alfredo for dipping sauce.

Southwest Chicken Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
WOW!! This was VERY good! I'd say this is up in my top 3 of dinners from AR!! It had been on my menu for almost a month and kept getting pushed into the next week, so glad I FINALLY got to make it! I did make a few changes based on our personal preferences. I left out the black olives and the corn. Instead of Salsa I used 1/4C of Taco Sauce that needed to be used up. I also took the advice of Josh's Mommy and cooked my regular rice for 15minutes because I'm also to cheap to buy the instant rice! I threw in a handful of Monterey Jack Cheese that needed to be used up as well! I cooked the cubed chicken the night before and will do this next time as well but will shred it instead of cubing. This will definately be making it into the rotation of meals as we all enjoyed it! Thanks so much for such a simple recipe! :) **Note the chicken does need to be cooked prior to adding it to the pie and you'll need a full 8oz bag of cheddar cheese**

Amaretto

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
I made this last year during the holidays. For homemade it was really good. It was a little sweeter and the color was a little off from Disaronno, but other than that it was tasty. Next time I'll cut back on the sugar just a tad as I like to make Amaretto Sours and it was a little too sweet with the sour mix. I will def make again though.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
This went over pretty well with the family. The changes I made were: I only used one can of Rotel, 3T of Taco Seasoning I (from this site) for the spices, and a handful of frozen corn. Next time I'll try it with Chix Broth instead of beer (or a light colored beer.) I used Newcastle and we could still smell/taste the beer in the soup (but it wasn't overpowering) I served with Monterry Jack Cheese, Sourcream and tortilla strip chips. Thanks for a good recipe on such a chilly day!

Jimmy's Mexican Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
Thanks for a quick and tasty recipe! Much better than what you get at Taco Bell!! I did change it up a bit by using Taco Seasoning I and making 2 pizzas on a cookie sheet instead of using pie plates. Very quick and tasty! I love how the tortilla's crunch up around the edges! It was also VERY filling. Will def make again!

Eggnog Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
I LOVED the flavor of these... But for once I didn't read reviews beforehand (oops) Like everyone said, the measurements are off. The batter is way thick as written. I kept adding more eggnog and finally got it thinned out to make the pancakes. I didn't want to thin with water or milk, as I didn't want to lose the eggnog flavor. I'm going to try these again and try to get the measurements figured out. These do brown really quick because of the sugar in the eggnog, so watch them carefully :)

Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
After reading thru ALL the reviews I was a little timid about this recipe. Everyone either loved it or hated it. I made a few changes based upon what others had issues with. Since this was going to be in the crockpot for 9 hours (while I was at work) I opted to cube up the chicken, cube up ham steak and cube up a few chunks of cheese. I then doubled the soup and milk and left for work. When I got home it was really runny so I tossed in the stuffing and let it cook for another hour and 1/2 and it was PERFECT!! I will definatley be making this one again. Next time I will do everything the same, except I won't double the soup, since I didn't have an issue with dryness. Great comfort food for a cold day. Thanks for a very easy pleasing meal for my family!

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
Based upon other reviewers, I skipped the water and mayo and added ricotta cheese. I also used homemade meatballs that were already prepared and needed to be used. My husband really liked this, my toddler picked at it, and I just thought it was ok. Something is just a bit off for me on this. It was a nice change but I believe I'll stick to regular meatballs subs in the future.

I let my hubs make this one!! It turned out FANTASTIC!! I love the crunchy bottom and chewy middle! He makes one medium sized pizza and crazy bread/garlic bread with the other ball of dough! He just made up another batch to freeze for later! This is now our go-to recipe!! THANKS

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
AWESOME!!! My hubs is the baker in the house and he makes a cookie similar to this one. We decided to give these a try as well. When he makes these he switches the white and brown sugar measurements around but follows the recipe exact besides that! We're at high altitude and these cookies turn out PERFECT and don't last long either!!

Brenda's Pepperoni Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
I prepared these the night before so I just had to pop in the oven for dinner. This is the first time I've ever had "stuffed chicken" and had to pound chicken out. I was pleased with the results. I skipped the browning in the oil part and I used shredded mozzarella as that what I had on hand. I also put extra mozzarella on top of the rolls in the last 5 minutes and it was nice and cheesy. After reading the reviews I opted for pizza sauce and I'm glad I did. It turned out great. My hubs who wasn't looking forward to this meal really enjoyed it. My toddler cleaned his plate as well. I served with garlic/parsley noodles and we put the extra sauce on the noodles.

Chili Dog Casserole II

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
Such a simple recipe that turned out to be very tasty and well liked! It really does taste like a chili dog! I halved the recipe down to 4 and used an 8x8. I boiled the hotdogs first. Layered one can of chili on the bottom. Then rolled the hotdog up with cheese inside the tortilla like many reviewers did. And I topped with 1/2 can more of chili and cheese. I didn't measure the cheese as we like things cheesy! I can't wait to use homemade chili with this! I'm not sure why I waited so long to make this, but I will def be making this more often! Thanks for an easy peasy, crowd pleaser recipe!
