About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna, brisket, biscotti, brownies, lemon bars, soups
My favorite family cooking traditions
Veal "Spadinis" with my grandmother during Italian grandfather's tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Making an enormous, killer brisket with homemade sauce for a huge Super Bowl crowd and it turned out great the first time.
My cooking tragedies
When my mother in law gave me a recipe for flourless brownies. It called for pureed garbanzo beans instead of flour. I made it, it smelled wonderful, but then when you put it to your lips it smelled of hay and it was quite disgusting. Garbanzo bean skins were in each bite with the chocolate taste. The worst recipe I ever received and actually tried! It is quite deceiving because they smell wonderful while cooking and look absolutely normal.

World's Best Lasagna
The sauce was great and that is about it. Too long cook time; lasagna came out dry when I followed the directions to a T. I was hoping this would blow a Costco frozen lasagna out of the water but for the time and cost it took to make, it wasn't mindblowing by any means.

Best Peanut Sauce
Simple, quick and delish. A must to make with chicken satay. Everyone raved about the sauce and ate it by the spoonfuls! You could put it on anything!

Fruit Pizza
Everyone raved about the taste and presentation (ages 10-60 loved it). I made the mistake of using thawed frozen fruit and after sitting out for awhile, the crust was really soggy. Fresh fruit next time! It was still delicious, easy, tantalizing when I set it out and everyone saw it - they immediately wanted some. I would also recommend rolling the cookie dough out as thin as possible without separating. Chris
