My cooking tragedies
A super slimy Tofu Creation that was just so incredibly nasty~ We all tried to choke it down but ended up paying anyone who could actually swallow a mouthful and keep it down ;) Woot! Krick (daughter) made herself a bit of dough that night ;) It was years ago and I have never ventured into Tofo cookery since ...blech! That stuff is just nasty! (Talking about the blocks of stuff...I do use the Yves and Sanitarium products with heaps more success.

Leftover Scalloped Potato Soup
I was very pleased to find a way to use up my leftover scalloped potatoes! For a vegetarian soup I used vegetable stock and for added flavour I used a bit of thyme, sage and garlic powder. I added one bunch of broccoli flowerettes for colour. Oh, the "orange" bits in the soup are from the sweet potato I subbed into my original Scalloped Potatoes.

Semmelknoedel (Bread Dumplings)
Haven't made them yet but will very soon! My paternal grandmother was from Osterhofen and always made these with roast pork and steamed apples! Not sure what I will serve 'em with though as I have been vegetarian for oodles of years now...I am sure O Mommy would not have approved ;)

German Apple Cake I
This is an awesome recipe! I have been making it for years! Got the recipe from my German Grandmother. I make it exactly as you have listed except I add a bit more Vanilla. To assist the cake baking evenly I like to put an inverted Flower Nail in the middle of the pan before I pour the batter in.
