Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
I have never tasted peanut butter fudge before, but based on that, this is super sweet. I cut down the powdered sugar and upped the peanut butter as well. It tasted like a big hunk of peanut butter icing to me, and didn't ever really harden up as much as i would have liked. Would be great on cake, but won't be making to eat plain again.

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
I love this recipe and you can adapt it to so many variations. I line my baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray for easier clean up, and only cook it for 30 min on 375. I always use half mayo and half milk because it's easier to dip. I have tried bread crumbs, saltines, cornflakes, and crackers--all successfully. I also used a sleeve of buttery round crackers this time and it was excellent. Next time i'm planning on drizzling with some honey.

Vanilla Wafer Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
These had a great flavor, but they taste nothing like a vanilla wafer, nor do they have the same texture. I may try these again using margarine (it has oil which makes cookies fluffy) and more flour, as they spread out super thin. I also doubled the vanilla, because i love it.

Brownie Biscotti

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
These were my first attempt at biscotti, which i normally don't care for, and i will definitely be making these again! I think they have just the right amount of everything. I used regular sized semi-sweet chips and they worked just fine. I formed the loaves on aluminum foil and when they were done, i let them set for 15 min before slicing. A spatula does prevent breaking. I also lowered the temp to about 285 for the second baking. Iced with a powdered sugar glaze and melted chocolate---delicious!

Roasted New Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
Excellent--quick and simple! I added a bit of cajun spices to taste and they turned out perfectly. Also lined my baking sheet with aluminum foil to ease the clean up. I quartered my new potatoes because of their size and was still great. I also cooked these for about 25 min, then flipped to the other side to brown for another 10. Will be adding to my collection.

Buttery Cooked Carrots

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
My picky husband devoured these last night! I didn't leave any water in the pan when cooking the butter and it was plenty juicy enough. I also sliced up regular carrots because i like the way they cook better. Next time i think i'll add a T or 2 more of brown sugar, because i just wanted a slight more sugary taste. These are great!

Burnt Butter Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
My husband thought that this was a nice variation of traditional white rice. I actually used instant rice, because that's all i had and it turned out just fine. I tried substituting margarine, but i guess it doesn't burn like butter does. It was still good--i love a little rice with my butter. I would imagine this tastes like burned butter, so if that sounds gross, i wouldn't make it.

Garlic-Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
This is a great quick marinade if you're looking for a fast fix. I halved the soy sauce and added about 1/4 c of water instead. I also baked this in a pan at 375 for about 35-40 min in the juice, and it was perfectly cooked, and one of the moistest chicken breasts i have ever had.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
I gave this a four because while it was good, for me, it was too much like cake. The next time i make this, i plan on leaving out the baking powder and soda all together to see if i can get a chewy brownie.

Best Chicken Ever

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
After reading the reviews i ommitted the sour cream, floured the chicken before dipping in anything and I used a half mayo/half milk combo. I added about a T of ranch to the cornflakes. I cut the breast into strips and placed on aluminum foil for easier cleanup. I also baked at 375 for about 35 min. My hubby thought this was delicious

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
I was in a pinch and used a mixed cheese blend instead of Parm that i didn't have on hand. I also used half mayo, half sour cream instead of all mayo. The chicken was very moist and had a pretty good flavor. I broiled it at 500 for a couple of minutes to make it brown and pretty on top. I served it with rice and on a bed of spinach. It was good, but it still wasn't great. Based on the cost of a can of artichokes ($4), I didn't think this was worth repeating. I

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
I love pumpkin nut bread, and wanted to give these a try. The changes i made were to add about 1/2 tsp nutmeg and a dash or 2 of allspice to the batter and i used vegetable oil instead of olive oil. This made 20 muffins, generously sized. If i make these again, i would double the streusel and leave out the cream cheese all together. The cream cheese was different and pretty, but not enough of an improvement to leave in. I loved the topping on these and didn't feel like i had as much as i needed for all of the muffins.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
While I enjoyed this recipe, to me, it tasted like all of the other chinese chicken sauces I have made from this site. It did have a good flavor though. I also cheated and pan cooked the chicken.

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
My husband said this was the best chicken fried steak he's ever had. I have always had a problem with my previous recipe's breading falling off, and this breading didn't do that--it stuck to the meat great! I omitted the hot pepper sauce, as I'm a weany when it comes to pepper. This is my new go-to recipe! Delicious!!

Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
After reading the reviews, i halved the soy sauce and substituted cheap vanilla for bourbon (i have a toddler and don't like to cook with alcohol). This was delicious! I breaded my chicken with cornstarch and fried it, then used the sauce over the top. Will definately be adding to my collection.

Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
Wow, what a delightful recipe! I read a ton of review before making, and i only added a slight variation from the original. I cooked the mushrooms in butter with a tsp of cavendar's seasoning (i put this on mushrooms regularly) instead of what other reviews suggested. I also omitted the nutmeg. Make sure and pound out the breast very thin if you intend to roll it up. I attempted to half this, and i had way too much filling and so i made ugly chicken baskets stuffed full. I thought the bread crumbs were just fine in the filling, it tasted like mushroom rolls that my family loves! I will definately be making again.

Oreo® Cookie Cake

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
This was well recieved by my family, but it wasn't spectacular. I made mine in a round spring form and only used one 8 oz pkg of cream cheese, and it was plenty. I also used chocolate pudding instead of vanilla. This is definately more of a pie, and reminded me a lot of the sex in a pan dessert my mom makes, only with chocolate crust.

Fresh Strawberry Scones

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
I made a slight variation of these by using a cup of oats ground instead of 1 c of flour. I also reduced the butter to 3 T. They usually only have to cook for about 14 min, watch them closely. My husband loves strawerry muffins, and thought these were delicious.

I made the chicken sepearte and used this recipe for the glaze. It had a pretty good flavor, but felt like it needed something more to give it 5 stars.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: May 3, 2010
I had high hopes for these, but was let down. They were very simple to make, but didn't taste a thing like those candy bars they sell. I used 1/4 less butter, and 1/4 more peanut butter, and they still tasted like butter. I didn't care for the mixture of chocolate and pb on top either, i think just plain would have been fine. My husband liked them, but they are definately not a replacement for a reeses.
