This was great! I absolutely love Panko bread crumbs...it is the best! I did make one alteration and that was to cook my chicken in butter. It was soooo good! Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Spaghetti with Garlic and Basil

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2006
After a 3 hour panty raid last night, my friends Taylor and Ellen (who claims she is a nurse, but is really a bartender at the local Hooters) called me up at 3:00 in the morning and asked me to "whip" something up for them to munch on while watching The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood or something like that. Of course I ran to allrecipes and found this recipe. I made this with penne and since the market was closed in the middle of the night, I didn't have access to fresh basil, so I used dried. We had this with the left over flat beer from Hooters and after the two imbecile's passed out on my futon, I let the air out of their tires. That'll teach them to wake me up for spaghetti!! Enjoyed this very much, thanks for sharing.

Asparagus Wrapped in Crisp Prosciutto

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2006
This was the first time I've attempted making these appetizers...and alas, I did find them a bit on the salty side, BUT...we still ate everyone of them. I used a whole slice of prosciutto...I read where only using half would could down on the satiness. Might go that route next time. My asparagus was rather thin in diameter..so that could be another reason. The last few minutes, I popped them under the broiler...just to make sure they were crispy. Almost went with Taylor's suggestion to add Parm....but dedcided against it at the last minute! We enjoyed these and thankx for sharing your recipe.

Cathy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
Very good banana bread Cathy. I had bought a huge batch of bananas from Costco and very seldom do we get through them all before they start to turn brown. I mashed up 2 large bananas (a little over a cup) and used vanilla flavored yogurt instead of sour cream. I also threw in a teaspoon of cinnamon to give a little added flavor. I baked them in 2 loaf pans and they came out beautifully. I wish I would have added some chopped walnuts, but didn't think of it at the time. Might try that next time. The picture of this bread is beautiful...thanks for sharing.

Owen's Mozzarella and Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2006
OK - this is totally one of my favorite salads. I used cherry tomatoes instead of regular because I bought a hugh box of them at Costco. They are just the right size and they "pop" in your mouth. I also added some balsamic vinegar to the olive oil and tossed this with gourmet salad greens. I know I've changed the recipe around a little, but it did not affect the overall flavor of this recipe. Thankx Dell. PS. I see the "police" have removed part of my review.

Oh Yummy! I didn't use the vinegar (never do) and I added some garlic and onion powders for some added flavor. This is one of the many appetizers I depend on when entertaining...especially my southern friends. Thanks Mary

Iced Tea I

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2006
Being from the south, iced tea is a must with every meal as rice is with Chinese food. I don't think I have ever been able to brew tea with just hot tap water. I have had to boil it somehow...either in the microwave or on the stove. I have never heard of lead poisoning through hot tap water as the previous reviewer mentioned, but I thank you Rosie for that peice of info. This is a very basic way of making iced tea and I don't think it matters how you get your water hot, your tea will taste the same. Unless you go the southern way and let it sit in the sun all day! Eight tea bags is good for a large pitcher, but I have also used 1 "family size" bag when I have them. Don't forget the sugar, I add it right after the water has boiled so it dissolves instantly. Thanks for this simple recipe.

Soy and Garlic Marinated Chicken

This was a great way to have chicken Tracy. It's very versatile and tastes good with just about any additions like minced ginger or green onions. I used tenderloins and used this in a stir-fry. Thank for sharing.

Baked Ziti III

Oh so yummy. We had company over and they could not stop raving about this ziti. I made a double batch so I could have leftovers for myself. I left out the mozzarella and basil, but didn't miss it. I served this with a salad and garlic bread and I thank you for sharing this yummy recipe.

Bucket Salad

Reviewed: May 29, 2006
This really is a good salad that my family loves. I brown the beef and throw in a package of taco seasoning for extra flavor. I also mix equal amounts of ranch dressing and picante sauce and like to serve this salad over corn chips. Have made this many times and always look forward to making it again. :)

Cherry Bomb

Reviewed: May 29, 2006
Yep - this was tasty. I love cherry limeades...especially from Sonic, but there's no Sonic within a reasonable distance around here so I always make my own. I juiced 2 limes since I like a sour taste and went easy on the rum...I didn't want to see double! I added some of the cherry juice which really sent this over the top. Will keep this drink in mind for summer. Thanks a bunch :)

Garlic Bread Mama Rita's Way!

Reviewed: May 29, 2006
This really is a great way to fix garlic bread. I used my usual garlic and onion powders and added more or less to suit our tastes. I used oregano in place of basil and mixed everything together and spread it on a sliced baguette. This went great with spaghetti and meatballs. Thanks for sharing.

This was really good. I didn't have any creme de cacao liqueur, so I subbed Godiva liqueur and it turned out fine. I also went heavy on the whipped cream. YUM!!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
Wowzer...this was awesome, but HOT! My 4 oz can of jalapeno peppers really packed a punch, but it was oh so yummy! I only used 1 can of small white beans, which I pureed before adding to the pot. It made the chili nice and thick. I also used a whole block of pepper jack cheese, which I grated. Next time I make this, I will use a rotisserie chicken (if I can remember to buy one) instead of the boiled chicken tenders I used. At the end, I threw in a handful of chopped cilantro and served the chili over crushed tortilla chips. This was excellent and I can't wait to make it again. Thanks a million.

Kickin' Collard Greens

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
Oh, these were really good. I used twice as much bacon called for and did not need the full amount of broth. I probably only used about a cup, and there was plenty of pot liquor at the end. My family is big on "greens" and these did not disappoint. I'm from the south, so these were right up my ally. Great recipe.
