Chocolate Syrup

I wasn't sure if we would like this, so I halved the recipe. Otherwise made it just as written. Excellent! I will probably never buy Hershey's syrup or NesQuik again. This will save a lot of money for for this chocolate milk-loving household. Haven't tried it on ice cream yet, but I'm sure it will be great on that as well. Not too sweet, either, which is a plus! Also, to me, this was the same consistency as regular chocolate syrup after cooking & cooling. It does take some boring stirring time before it actually gets to bubbling & thickening, but I expected that.

World's Best Oatmeal Cookies

First, I'm low on groceries, & due to this no nuts, & butter instead of shortening. I also added cinnamon. The kids LOVE these cookies. Even though I halved the recipe, I got exactly 4 dozen out of this, dropping teaspoonfuls. Cute little chewy cookies. Also, they did not take 12 minutes to cook. Unless you want them crunchy. This was such an easy, tasty recipe, that I am sure we will be making them often!!!

Cinnamon Carrot Bread

Made this today. Had no nuts, so left those out, had only olive oil so used that in place of sunflower. Did add 1/2 cup milk, (because I made muffins), more carrot, nutmeg & ginger. They had a nice texture, made nice looking muffins, but to me almost resembled a corn muffin in sweetness & seemed more savory. Two of my kids liked it, two didn't, although 1 finally ate some because he got hungry. I think I would make them again, only with something to make them sweeter.

Easy Banana Muffins

These were the best banana muffins ever! So easy to make, I don't think I will ever make banana bread again! I did only use white flour (it's all I had) and I added a tsp of vanilla, some cinnamon, nutmeg, & a sprinkle of ground cloves (I didn't measure the spices, I just eyeballed it, sorry). I made 6 big muffins & cooked them in my toaster oven because I didn't want to heat the kitchen, and they came out golden brown, moist, & great flavor! My kids ate them up!
