Italian Roast Beef I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2014
I tried this recipe halving the herbs, and it was still too overpowering for me. The red pepper flakes were omitted. I like Italian seasoning, but this was over the top. I made it in the crock pot and probably cooked it too long (about 8 hours) as it was dry. However, with the meat juices poured over it, it was better. I won't make this recipe again.

Easy Swedish Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2014
This is not a traditional pie, more like an apple cobbler. It's so easy to make and tasted much better than I expected. I used only one Granny Smith apple and the rest were a red apple variety so I could have cut back on the sugar. I baked it for 45 minutes and the filling was still juicy and the crust was still soft. It did run over the pie plate into the oven so next time I will put something under it. The taste of the original recipe was fine for me but I might try the changes suggested the next time I make it and I will definitely make this again!

Cinnamon Raisin Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2014
I have tried several bread machine recipes and this is the best one so far. I made it exactly as written except for the raisins. It rose beautifully, had a nice crust and tasted really good. I didn't have dark raisins so used golden raisins and it worked. If you like a really distinct cinnamon taste, use a little more cinnamon. I did not have to add more flour than stated in the recipe. I will make this again.

Peasant Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
I made this bread per the recipe and found it to be very heavy, dense and no flavor. The top fell in and it was tasteless! I will never make this recipe again.

Michelle's Honeybun Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2013
This is too sweet for me! What I did differently: I used two eggs and two egg whites instead of 4 whole eggs. I put the batter in cupcake tins instead of a 9 x 13 pan. (The batter rises very little.) I only used about half of the brown sugar mixture and it was still very, very sweet.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
This recipe is simple and extremely sweet. It's fine if you don't have Karo syrup, but I prefer the taste and texture of the recipes made with Karo syrup.

Florida Key Lime Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
I really liked this recipe and will use it again. The only things I changed were to use Kool Whip instead of the heavy cream, etc. and regular limes. The 3/4 cup key lime juice was about 6 limes.

Chunky Applesauce

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
This was a little too sweet for my taste. The cinnamon also was overpowering the apple taste and the color was unappetizing (brown). I will not make this recipe again.

Donna's Famous Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
This definitely has an egg taste. I have made others that taste better to me. Personal preference I'm sure. It did bake nicely and was easy to plate.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2010
I made this exactly as stated in the recipe, and it seemed bland to me. I will not be making this recipe again.
