Richard's Chicken Breasts

I gave this a 4 because I used what I had on hand. I didn't have any wine so I used chicken stock. I also added a little sage,parsley,onion and garlic powder to the flour. I threw in red bell pepper to the mushroom onion mix. I too sautéed the veggies before deglazing with the stock. I had a friend helping me as I was going to pound the breasts but she cut the chicken into cubes instead. It was a great mistake! I also added chopped garlic in with the rosemary. I didn't use the cheese because I didn't have any. This came out so awesome! The hubs wants it in our rotation. He raved and raved about how tender the chicken was and the flavor of the whole dish. Next time,I will make more sauce to toss with the pasta or rice. This recipe is so good and versatile like Richard says. I don't think I will use the cheese..I don't think it needs it. Tx Richard for a awesome chicken recipe! I usually try a new recipe exactly like the cook states it but I just had to wing it this time. Try this folks..it is really the bomb!

Pumpkin Cake I

i had to rate this cake. i really messed it up and it still came out moist and delish! first of all, i only had about 2/3 cup of oil so i threw in a couple of tbs. of sour cream. next, no cloves so i added extra cinnamon.i put in in my bundt pan in the oven and 5 mins later realized i didn't add the baking soda! so i dumped it back out in a bowl, stirred in the baking soda and returned it to the oven. i just knew i had ruined it but no! it was great and it stayed moist for several days.this was a big hit at my house. i will make it right the next time and i am sure we will like it even more! thanks for a great and easy recipe.

Sour Cream Cucumber Salad

so happy to see this recipe as i grew up on this being polish. my ma always did what kimkmom12 suggested. she did the overnight in the fridge and the next day wrapped them in a towel and squeezed all the water out. the only other difference was she used black pepper, thin sliced yellow onion and added dill weed. we always loved this and i am going to the farmers market today to get some cucumbers to make it! thanks for posting this lydia!

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

i didn't have any sherry so i used balsamic vinegar instead.i will buy sherry for the next time. other than that, i followed everything as listed. i kept thinking, i hope i didn't ruin this using cinnamon. IT WAS AWESOME! don't be afraid of trying this recipe and don't leave out the cinnamon! no one at dinner could guess what the ingredient was. each ingredient seems to compliment each other without one flavor taking over.i am so glad i took a chance on this one! give it a try. using the leftovers for paninni's tonight.

Sage Pork Chops

i gave this a 4 since i changed a few minor things. i used 3 thick boneless pork chops. i mixed the sage with about 1/2 tsp of thyme, garlic powder and onion powder. i also cut the salt in half.i rubbed this mix into the chops and let that sit on the chops for about 15 mins. i browned the chops in 1 tsp of butter and 1 tsp of olive oil. i would suggest not using a non stick skillet to brown the chops so you get a nice crust on them. i used my cast iron skillet. after browning i also threw in some sliced onion into the skillet to caramelize them.then took chops out, added 1 cup of beef stock, scarped up the bits and put chops back in. cooked them for about 30 mins and they were delish! they were so tender and the spice did not overpower the meat. i was unsure of this recipe when i first looked at it but i am so glad i tried it! this is going into my rotation for sure! served it with cheddar mashed potato bake from this site and a cucumber/tomato salad and fresh homemade bread. thanks tiffany for the recipe.next time i might thicken up the sauce to make a gravy. try this one..i doubt you will be disappointed!

Spicy Brown Mustard Chicken

i gave it 4 stars because i had to change a few minor things. i only had dijon mustard so i mixed that with 1tb of honey. i also used panko bread crumbs mixed with bread crumbs from leftover homemade bread.this came out so good and so full of flavor! i don't understand the reviews of it being bland or the ones where it is too much mustard flavor. i also didn't have any grease floating when i uncovered it. the coating crisped up nice for me after i removed the foil and cooked it about 10 mins longer.for a recipe that i wasn't sure of..it turned out to be a winner in my house! thanks a different and delightful recipe.

Juicy Marinated Steaks

i used soy sauce instead of teriyaki because that is what i had. i also used coke because i had no root beer. the garlic and onion salt i switched for powder. on the herbs i used oregano, red pepper flakes, cayenne. i also chopped up a jalapeno pepper, garlic cloves and red onions because i was making tacos. i had thin cut eye of round steaks and we know how tough those can be. i marinated for 2 days and oh my! i cooked them in a cast iron skillet until done all the way thru and they were so tender i couldn't believe it! made awesome steak tacos! i will try the original recipe when i get all my supplies stocked. this is a awesome marinade that i will go to again and again for those tougher cuts of meat. i also like that you can change up your herbs and spices to suit your taste or the cuisine you are having. thanks denis!

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

the hubs makes these all the time and we love them.sometimes when he is removing them from the outdoor grill, he will brush a small amount of quality bar-b-q on some of them. i prefer them without it but he likes it with. a trick a very good friend of ours taught us(he is from mexico)is to roll the jalapenos for a minute on your cutting board before cutting and stuffing. the pepper will release more oils and will retain the heat of the pepper. it works!we live in texas and he has taught us so many tips and recipes to cook some great mexican food.i am getting hungry thinking about these peppers!

Fruit and Cream Pie I

this was awesome! i had to change a few things due to what i had on hand. i used frozen raspberries(i drained them really well after defrost) and fresh blueberries. i also put in a pre-made choc crust. i only got 1 slice!! hubby ate half of it the 1st night. mine set up perfect..just make sure you give it at least 4 hours in the fridge before you dive in! i had leftover filling, so i froze it for later. thanks melanie for a great, easy pie!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

my son bought a bread machine for me for christmas. i have tried many nice bread recipes but this one is the favorite so far!! i made it as directed the 1st time. the 2nd time i used different herbs. the 3rd time i left out all of the herbs but followed the rest of the recipe.. talk about fantastic bread with a nice crust and tender on the inside. the only problem is..i am making bread daily because my son and family want it, my friends want it and i have to save some for myself! you won't be let down by this recipe. it is perfect for the bread machine. thanks jo!! you have turned me into a bread maker who gets rave reviews..all the credit goes to you! i have a loaf in the machine as i type. yummy!!! i also forgot to add..the 1st loaf i sent home to my son and family disappeared from the kitchen counter. they found our 2 year old grandson on the floor and he ate the whole thing hiding behind the couch! so a 2yr old gives it 5 stars also!

Easy Marinated Pork Tenderloin

this is awesome! i marinated mine 24 hours the 1st time and 48 the next time. the pork was so tender and so d-lish!! great flavor without being overwhelming with spices. only thing i did different was to add extra garlic. we love this recipe! we have made paninni's out of the leftovers..talk about a awesome sandwich the next day!! this is for sure in my rotation when pork loin or tenderloin is on sale. thanks for a great recipe!

Parmesan Knots

i gave this a 4 star rating because i didn't follow the exact directions. i put my knots in a muffin tin since it was all i had to use at the time. i brushed the knots with melted butter instead of oil with the spices mixed in. i also used half parm and half asiago cheese. used fresh chopped garlic too. these were a big hit and i only got one bite before they all disappeared! thanks cathy for a easy, great tasting recipe. the finished product didn't taste like canned biscuits at all! i will keep this one in my recipe box for sure.

Very Easy Mushroom Barley Soup

i gave this a four star rating because i changed a few minor things. i used beef stock because it was what i had on hand. i also added some parsley, thyme and italian seasoning for added flavor. this came out absolutely delicious and not a drop was left! everyone raved about it and asked for the recipe. i am going to stick with the beef stock instead of chicken since we all liked it so much! next time i am going to cut up and brown sirloin steak( i stock up when albertsons runs them on sale)with the veggies for the meat lovers but i don't think it is a must add in.thanks sand1149 for a great recipe that can be tweaked to your taste!

Zippy Summer Shrimp

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

i made this for our christmas eve dinner. i was out of cayenne pepper so i use a few red pepper flakes instead. the fresh basil is a must in my opinion.i cooked mine in a skillet due to bad weather.can't wait to try them on the grill! even the little ones ate the shrimp! it was a big hit and i am so glad i found your recipe.it is in my recipe box to stay! thanks blondie!

Strawberry and Spinach Salad with Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette

i used feta cheese and pine nuts in place of gorgonzola because it is what i had on hand. it was excellent! i will try it next next with the gorgonzola and pecans. thanks ms_cady and you are right..the combos you can do with this salad is endless!
