Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2014
The cake over-flowed the pan, dropping excess batter in oven and the edges were burnt.

Easy Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
This is awesome!!!!! I was going to try this using sour cream as so many others suggested, however.....I'm a mayonnaise-a-holic and I figured what's 1/2 c. mayo as long as I'm using all that cheese. I made it with the mayo and it was sooooo good. Added extras, as I would on a regular taco and it's definitely a keeper. I would rather make the recipe as listed first and then (if need be) make adjustments. This is right on just the way it is.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 17, 2013
Made this cheesecake yesterday. I must have done several things incorrecly because it turned out to be a flub. First, I've never made graham cracker crust without sugar but I did as the recipe said. I never greased the springform pan for a cheescake before but I did as the recipe instructed. Followed instructions and put in oven @ 350 for 1 hour. The cheesecake had risen well past the top of the pan. DID NOT open oven at all. After 1 hr turned oven off and left it in for the 5 hours stated. Turned oven light on several times to "peek" and saw the cake had "deflated". At the end of 5 hours i took it out. The entire center had sunk in and top had a burned look to it. I just had to taste it as it really didn't look great. Had more of a custard texture than a cheesecake texture. I'm hoping that being refrigerated will help the texture, but nothing will help the appearance. Taste was so-so. With all the rave reviews I'm assuming I must have done several things wrong. This was not my first cheesecake but it was the first one I had problems with. Have a can of cherry pie filling that I hope will help with looks at least.

doubled the recipe and used oatmeal instead of wheat germ. didn't bother with the egg-wash either. rolled into small balls and flattened with fork. made about 75 small to mid-sized balls. worked great. my 3 "kids" thoroughly enjoy them!!!!!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
this bread is awesome.......however......i made 6 large muffins and had just enough batter for a 9-1/2 x 5 loaf pan (greased and floured). the muffins came out with no problem (used muffin papers) but the bread, although it tastes delicious, took forever to get done and stuck terribly to the bottom of the pan (still completely edible tho). next time i will just make muffins and i'm sure this recipe will make AT LEAST 12 LARGE muffins. thanks for sharing.

Apple Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
I'm sure I followed the recipe to a "T" but for some reason this batter was EXTREMELY thick. The taste is excellent but the texture is heavy and the crust is so hard I must cut it off to enjoy eating the bread. It's like it needed more liquid of some kind - perhaps another egg or more oil.

Ray's Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
i hesitated trying yet another "super moist grilled chicken breast" recipe. however, i had all the ingredients except the sherry. i thought don't waste money on sherry that you will use only once but i bought it anyway (turned out to be quite inexpensive). well.....this HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST grilled chicken recipe i've ever tried!!!!! i've never had grilled chicken breast that is so moist and tender!!!!!!! the sherry will be sure to get used up and this will become a regular in our house!!!!!!! i did marinate it overnight and didn't grill until about 4 the next day, so perhaps the longer it marinates the jucier and more tender it gets. thanks!!!!!!!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
The only thing I did different was use cayenne pepper (as one other reviewer suggested), dried parsley (didn't have fresh) and it took just a little cornstarch and water to thicken to the consistency we like. It was AWESOME!!!!!!! Also made fresh Italian bread in my bread machine........WHAT A MEAL!!!!!!!! I'm sure this can be interchanged quite a few different ways - different pasta, shrimp, ground beef. Can't wait to do it again!!!!!!

This was insanely good. I was afraid to use a whole tsp. of the cayenne so i only used 1/2 tsp. and it was just enough for hubby and me. Will definitely make this again and again and again!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
my husband used to be the banana bread person in our house.....that is until i made THIS banana bread!!!!! it is totally awesome!!!!!! the slight sweetness of the cinnamon/sugar mixture sprinkled on the baking pans is perfect. the taste of cinnamon and banana are totally blended together and neither are overpowering. the addition of 16 oz. of sour cream only moistens this beauty perfectly. the only thing i will do differently, on occassion, just as a little change, is add 1 - 1-1/2 cups of raisins next time. DEFINITELY A KEEPER IN THIS HOUSE!!!! freezes well too!!!!! thanks so much for sharing this one!!!!!

Jumbo Fluffy Walnut Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
These are the BEST muffins ever, HOWEVER....I've made them twice now and sprayed the muffin tins and tops of tins, and these muffins just don't want to come out of the pan!!!!! The first time I thought I may have let them cool too long - this time I took them out immediately after removing from the oven - still stick so bad. Wish someone could recommend doing something to stop this - I like the large tins and I don't know of ever seeing paper liners for the larger pans - maybe there are such things - if so, that would do the trick I guess.
