Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
I was pretty disappointed. Mine didn't turn out crispy at all, but it was my first try with a waffle iron - maybe my fault. I also don't understand the 4 tsp. of baking powder in this. I though they were pretty bland, too. Surprising, because the batter smelled wonderful. Sorry!

Crab Cakes III

DANG!!!!! We craved these again the next day! Have to admit, though, I used the imitation crab meat blend from the fridge section of the store and shredded the chunks really well. Nobody knew and it was very cost-effective. Outstanding recipe!

TAB: THANK YOU for sharing your family recipe. I wouldn't! These were simply astonishing! Definitely worth the (considerable) effort. Didn't do a thing different and I wouldn't do a thing different. Thank you and your family!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Yummalicious. I did 1.5x the crumble recipie, just 'cause we like it. Forgot to add the cinnamon after I'd already presed half into the pan, so tossed half into the apple mix and half into the remaining "topping". Was groovy. Also used the micro for the cornstarch/water mix - 1.5 minutes, whisked, 1.0 minutes, whisked. Done. No way to "pour over" apples, though, mixed the slices with the thickening mixture (hand toss in bowl). Also used about 2 cups more apples than recipe. Probably could have used even more. Lovely recipe, though. Thanks!

Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

These really were delicious, but the receipt forgot to include the spoon size to drop by (I did rounded Tbs.), balled them and criss-crossed with moistened fork. I also spaced about 1.5" between flattened cookies.

Banana Banana Bread

IMPORTANT TIP!!!! Made this 2 times - first time with glass loaf pans - pefect! 2nd time with aluminum loaf pans - overdone to slightly burnt. Throwing my aluminum pans away - glass all the way! Excellent, easy to make recipe, ingredients you'd usually have around the house. Great base if you want to add personal additions like nuts as well.
