Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
This is a wonderful pound cake. You can do anything to it and it turns out beautifully. I love to add the zest and juice of one lemon. Then glaze with a mixture of icing sugar and lemon juice. Stunning. Thanks for a great great recipe!

Spicy Peach Chutney

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
This is a beautiful recipe. Better than any chutney you buy in the store. This mellows and becomes wonderful with age so leave it at least a month before eating. Thanks for sharing!!

Best Black Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
great recipe, easy to tweak to make to your taste. I also, as per one of the reviews, drain and rinse beans when I use them from a can. I started by frying onion and garlic, added the rinsed beans and covered with a cup of vegetable broth. added a teaspoon or so of ground cumin, the juice of half a lime and some salt and boiled for 15 mins. then I added the cilantro. I used a good handful of cilantro rather than a tablespoon as I LOVE it! I sometimes like to mash some of the bean (leaving 1/2 of them whole) with a potato masher to make it thicker...great instead of refried beans in burritos etc...Thanks for a good solid base recipe!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
These brownies are beautiful! Chewy and oh so chocolatey. I don't know why people thought they were not thick enough...with 4 eggs, if beaten properly and long enough the volume of the mixture doubles and continues to rise when baked. They were a good 2" thick. I made 2 minimal changes, and that was to use 2 1/4 cups of sugar instead of 3 - 1/2 white 1/2 brown. This is because I just don't like brownies too sweet. the other change was I used a chopped up bar of Trade Joes dark chocolate instead of the chips because that's all I had at home. A fabulous recipe - Thanks for sharing it. it will definitely become the brownie recipe we use in this house!!

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
YUMMY!!!!! it's a great dish thanks...I did however change it a bit...used fresh tomatoes instead of tinned, red pepper instead of green (green doesn't like me) 2 cloves fresh garlic instead of garlic salt, and instead of the Italian dressing (didn't have any at home) I used olive oil, lemon juice, lime juice, dash of balsamic vinegar (approx 1 tbsp), herbal salt, pepper and a bunch of cilantro roughly chopped...will definitely make again and again

These cookies are gorgeous! So nice and soft (not chewey though) and colours are pretty. Used tangerine juice and pecans instead of orange and walnuts as that's what I had at home. thanks for a great recipe!
