About this Cook
I am a military spouse and since we move every couple of years I get lots of chances to meet new people and try different cuisines. My husband is a very picky eater and I am both allergic to black pepper and am gluten intolerant. Cooking in my household is always a challenge but I'll roll with the punches and never stop trying.
My favorite things to cook
I love grilled thick cut pork chops that are served with apples and onions sauteed in white wine. that dish makes me feel warm and fuzzy :) I make wheat free southwestern egg-rolls (rice paper) and blend avocado's and ranch dressing for a dip. I can never ever get enough spinach or mushrooms! I often cook with wine or gluten free beer and then serve either a better wine or the same beer with dinner.

Creamy White Wine Sauce
it's a good base but it's way to bland. I seasoned it with a heap of garlic, dried roasted red pepper, white pepper, and basil. I used a gluten free flour and half and half. I used a very cheap pinot grigio and decided that it was too strong in the sauce so then, I added almost alnother half or half and half and about three tablespoons of chicken broth. served over GF raviolli and chicken. My VERY PICKY husband is devouring it as I type this.

Easy Scalloped Potatoes
My husband is a huge fan of scalloped potatoes and he had two servings but both of us agree, it wasn't that great of a dish. I think next time I will pre-boil the potato's and then let them finish cooking in the oven. im going to use a mixture of different cheeses. probably medium cheddar and provolone and I am going to use white pepper, ground dill and garlic. to add more oomf. this recipe was good but it wasnt awesome.
