About this Cook
I love hiking, traveling, musicals, cooking and weddings! I enjoy taking pictures and getting a breath of fresh air. I like to wear dresses and heels. I like helping other people. I love learning, you can never know "too much".
My favorite things to cook
I usually go one way or the other... I like super simple home-style cooking OR make everything from scratch and beautiful gourmet meals!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pies. I have never been big on cakes or any sweets... but for each of our big holidays we all make pies... and we make them with at least one other family member... if not 15 other family members and I absolutely love it.
My cooking triumphs
Anything pasta. I am a pasta guru. I can make anything pasta and change it up and make it mouth watering, exhilarating and very tasty! Recently I have found out I had Celiac (coeliac) disease. I am a beginner at these recipes but am doing a pretty good job I'd say ;)
My cooking tragedies
First time cooking on my own was about 7 years old... my father was watching TV and giving me directions to make grilled cheese. Something went horribly wrong- I either didn't hear right or he told me wrong because he wasn't paying attention. Either way, I ended up putting the cheese on the outside and the butter on the inside! Fire in the kitchen! Everyone turned out okay and my dad figured out I needed hands on training at that young of an age! :) You know what they say, every true rider falls off his horse... well I say every great chef has burned a few dishes!! I was always the cook in the family after that :)

Lasagna-Stuffed Mushrooms
Yum! Great recipe. A great alternative, to make this more lasagna like, is to cook/add Acini di pepe pasta! I am in love with stuffed mushrooms but am picky about what goes in them... great recipe!

Lazy Katie's Taco Salad
Very quick to make, very easy to clean up! I used frito's instead of corn chips... making it almost a walking taco :) It was great & a big hit!
