Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
This is an absolutely excellent recipe. I followed the advice of one poster and added some Cider Vinegar (just a cup to 3 cups of water), but I think it was too much. The next time I make this, I will cut back the vinegar to just a tablespoon and reduce the water to 3 cups. Otherwise, just great. I paired with bottled barbecue sauce on the side for those that wanted it.

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
Very good recipe. I did modify it a bit by buying stuffing cubes (both cornbread and regular), but used the basic overall recipe mix. Since I've been struggling with stuffing for a few years - everything just turned out wrong with it - I'm very happy to now have a reliable, good stuffing recipe! Thanks.

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2013
Absolutely fantastic! We loved this recipe!!! Like a lot of other posters, I doubled the sauce to ensure we had enough for dipping crusty bread then I served this with a fresh salad, crusty bread and a nice Chardonnay. Great meal and thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
This was excellent. I did modify by adding some mustard and using a pork roast vs. the loin, but really, either way is just fine. We loved every bit of it!

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2012
This is my favorite grilled chicken recipe! Everyone I make it for raves. I'm not real particular about the exact measurements and it doesn't seem to matter. The key appears to be the steak sauce, though. Thanks for sharing!

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2014
Great recipe! I followed the suggestions of some of the other posters - added 3/4 cup red wine and seasoned the beef while browning - and I also used Better Than Bouillon vs. bouillon as the recipe calls for. But, the taste was excellent and the beef turned out amazingly tender. Definitely a keeper!

Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
Just made these Friday night with my fiancé. So easy to make and the flavor is outstanding. I know the ingredients seem a bit different for fajitas, but they blend so well and really have an authentic taste. For even more authentic taste, I recommend serving with fresh lime-squeezed margaritas!

Cannoli Cream Dessert

I didn't like this, but I'm sure I didn't do it right so don't let me discourage you. The only thing I would say is do not deviate from the plan.

Slow-Cooked Pork Barbecue

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
I love this recipe! So easy and I've struggled with pulled pork previosly. As we all do, I did make some modest changes for my taste - I used red pepper and cajun seasoning to season the roast (along with the seasoned salt and garlic) and I added vinegar, mustard, red pepper and garlic to the barbecue sauce instead of cola. Will likely try it with the cola sometime, but I was in the mood for extra spice today.

Tuna Mushroom Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2015
Like others, I modified this recipe slightly. I used fresh sautéed mushrooms, frozen peas, egg noodles and two cans of tuna. I omitted the topping and just mixed together a few bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese for the topping. Very good!

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
My husband thought the bread was a bit "yeasty" but I really liked this bread. So, so simple to make. I cut the recipe to a third to just make one loaf and it was an easy peasy addition to dinner.

Shrimp Scampi with Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
The shrimp tasted wonderful, but the sauce was a little too little to sustain all of the pasta. Like other posters said it was a little dry. If I make it again, I'll double the sauce.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
Excellent. How can you go wrong when you cook a whole chicken on a slow oven? Turned out moist and wonderful. I did add some minced garlic to the cavity and to the skin as well and it turned out great.

Smothered Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
This only gets four stars from me, but that's because the cut of beef - short ribs - is just not for me. Too messy and too fatty. However, the flavor of the gravy and the flavor of the beef were outstanding. So, it would have been five stars with a different cut of beef. I will definitely make again. Like some other posters, I followed this recipe exactly up until it came time to cook. Then, I just threw it in the crockpot and forgot about it for about five hours. I didn't find the prep too difficult either. Very easy to follow directions. Thanks for sharing!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2014
This is a great, simple sweet bread to make. So easy! I made it exactly as the recipe called for and it turned out great. It matched the stew I made (Beef Stew VI) very well. I did read some of the reviews and will try this again with a little less sugar for a different taste next time, but will definitely keep making it this way as well. Thanks!

It was nice to try but a little bland. Not sure what would give it a kick. Possibly a little hot sauce at serving?

Grandma's Chicken Chardon

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2014
Excellent. I agree with the other posters and used seasoned bread crumbs and a little more cheese than it called for (I actually sprinkled it over the top). Not as great left over and next time I will likely use smaller breasts or chunk them up a bit so it cooks faster. (It took me 1:15 minutes)

Black Bean and Corn Salad I

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2013
Like another poster, I added in tomatoes and avocados and I used a lot of cilantro. This is a great base recipe that you can mix up and change depending on the tastes of your guests.
