Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

This recipe was OK but not the best one I have ever had. We actually prefer the oven baked stew recipe that I have been making for 25 years. It is made with tomato juice, which we believe gives stew a better taste.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

OMG this was the best Pumpkinn Bread ever. Baked two bigger loaves last week and baking 2 again today. Gave one loaf to a neighbor -- they both loved it and asked when I was making it again for them. The only thing I changed was the pan. Instead of 3 smaller pans that the recipe called for, I used 2 regular size bread pans and baked for about 65 minutes. MMMMMM delicious!

The Best Potato Salad

OMG this was absolutely delicious! Made it exactly as the receipe stated expect for the "optional" items. Had company for dinner the day I made it and they loved it. I just couldn't believe that all these ingredients would make something that tasted so, so good! This was the very first tiime that I ever made a cold potato salad and was looking for a very good recipe -- I am so glad that I found this one. It is a keeper!

Blueberry Dessert Squares

These were absolutely delicious! Used fresh blueberry's. Only changes I made were as others had suggested: Used only 2/3 cup of brown sugar, used 1 stick of butter instead of shortening, added nuts to the top crumb layer, baked bottom crust 13 minutes and after blueberry's and top crumb topping were added I baked for 40 minutes. When cool they were easy to cut apart and did not crumble as some others had complained about. Brought some over to my older neighbors and they loved them! Mmmmm can't wait to make them again.

Grandma's Chicken Chardon

This was absolutely delicious! I used only 5 skinless/boneless chicker breast and followed the recipe as it was stated. My friend loved this dish and already asked when I was going to make it again. My reply was "soon". It was by far the best chicken breast recipe I have ever made. Yum....

Sausage Potato Bake

This recipe was just OK. I didn't like the over powering taste of the canned vegetable beef soup. Perhaps next time I will use a different soup in place of that one.

Cranberry Nut Bread II

This was by far the BEST Cranberry Nut Bread I have ever baked. Gave a loaf to neighbors who just raved about it. This is definitely a keeper and definitely will make again. Also I saw that one reviewer said this is the same recipe on the bag of cranberry's -- IT IS NOT the same, this one is slightly different, which I think makes it better!

Chewy Spice Bars

Enjoyed these a lot. Baked them for a friend, who took them to work. His co-workers went nuts over these bars. Did not change a thing with this recipe. Definitely will be making these again and again.

Cabbage and Noodles

This was delicious! Neighbors also loved it. Change I made was just to use the package of Real Bacon Bits -- that helps to cut down on the grease from the bacon, especially with having butter in this recipe. When I make again, I will be using a large head of cabbage as the small head just didn't seem like enough cabbage for my taste.

Cranberry Pot Roast

This was an OK recipe. But I like cooking in the oven much better with potatoes and carrots and lets just skip the cranberries. All boils down to a personal taste.

Spicy Beef Vegetable Stew

This was a very tasty dish. Didn't find it overly spicey, so when I make it again, I will probably spice it up a bit more. My dinner company did enjoy this dish, which I served over rice.

Pumpkin Pie Bars by EAGLE BRAND®

I did as others suggested and lightly greased the pan. Because I use a glass dish, I cut the temperature down to 350 degrees. I added a little whip cream on top of each bar before serving. These were so yummy.

Pumpkin Gingerbread

This was absolutely delicious! Gave a loaf to the neighbors, who love pumpkin, they ate 1/2 loaf that night. I did make some changes to this receipe as others had suggested. I only used 2 3/4 cup sugar, skipped the ginger (as it is not a taste I like), increased all remaining spices to 1 1/4 teasp and baked at 325 degrees for 1 hour & 15 minutes. It came out perfect -- no hard crusting and so moist.

The Best Lemon Bars
