Mexican Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2014
I did not change a thing on this recipe and it was AMAZING! Big hit at a our Father's Day cook out. A light, refreshing, tangy flavor. It says it is 8 servings, but it was fine for at least 12. I did not have an excess of liquid like some people did - even with the frozen corn. I may try using a flavor infused olive oil next time to see how it goes.

Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
This was just OK. I am not sure if it was the brands of ingredients I used or if I cooked the seafood portion too long, but the flavors did not come together like I thought they should. I will try it one more time before I give up on it.

Chicken Marsala Florentine

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
Really good recipe. I added garlic as suggested in some of the other reviews. The flavor was exactly what I was expecting! My dinner guests enjoyed this one. I will definitely be making it again.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
My husband requests this all the time. It is so EASY and TASTY so I make it when he asks. I don't change the recipe at all, super tasty just as is. I do agree with other reviewers, don't use an el cheapo brand of bbq sauce it does affect the flavor. We like to use the left over sauce on cold cut sandwiches and as a dip for chicken nuggets...etc...

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This recipe was so easy! The texture of the cheesecake was nice and dense, it was so delicious! Next time I will only reserve 1/2 cup or so of the mixture to make the "swirly" part. A cup seemed to be a little too much. I added a little more spice than called for in the recipe, but i just eyed it not any specific measurement.

Slow Cooker Creamed Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This did not turn out like I thought it would. It was more like cream with corn, not creamed corn. I ended up throwing a bunch out because no one wanted any after the first few bites. I won't be making it again.

Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This was REALLY easy to make. I have a big family so I changed it a little to meet our needs, and i will still have some to take to work for lunch! 1 lb ground turkey instead of beef (added montreal steak seasoning when browning) Whole bag of mixed veggies instead of 1 cup 2 cans of cream of mushroom 2 tlbs of ketchup a couple splashes of worcestershire sauce I baked it in a casserole dish instead of a pie pan due to the extra volume. Other than that, I stuck to the directions. My family raved about it and my husband said to put it in the "keeper" folder. Thank you so much for this healthy weeknight meal option!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
We love sweet potatoes and we really loved this recipe. After reading some of the reviews that said this was too sweet, I added 2 more cups of potatoes and kept the sugar at 1/2 cup. I also did not put as much of the topping on as indicated in the recipe. Also, I never boil my sweet potatoes or yams. I preheat the oven to 400 degrees, take the whole potatoes, rinse, dry well, coat the skin with vegetable oil and bake in a pan until tender (usually about an hour depending on the size of the potatoes). The skin pulls away from the meat of the potato so you can pull it right off this works great for baked sweet potatoes too. Then I mixed the ingredients in the food processor using the pastry blade. If you do this, be sure to pulse, not run steady or the potatoes will "liquefy" too much and not give you a good consistency when baked.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Delicious! Next time, I will not use as much sour cream though, a cup was a little too much for our taste.

Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Turkey

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
This came out so good! Followed the directions exactly. The meat was falling off the bone! I did have to split the breast in half because it was to tall for my slow cooker. My husand requests it all the time now!

Baby Carrots with Dill Butter

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
Loved this recipe. I used the larger bag of baby carrots (2 lbs) and steamed them instead of boiling and I squeezed juice from a whole lemon. It came out so good. Just enough "bite" but the carrots still had thier sweetness too. Thank you so much for this recipe! It is defintely a hit with my family.

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
The only Key Lime Pie recipe I will ever use again! Everything about this pie was great! Easy to put together, quick to bake, tastes delicious, wonderful texture. We do not have Key Limes available, so i used bottled Key Lime juice and rind from regular limes. It still came out really good! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

Cindy's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
I had never made a pumpkin pie before so I "tested" several recipes to see which one went over the best with my husband. This one won with flying colors. I used Coldstone Creamery Sweet Cream Ice Cream once I was comfortable with the recipe. Also I found that the FRESH puree I made makes this taste so much better than from a can.

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with Sugar and Spice

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
These seeds came out so good - I think I over did it with the sugar (I put more than is required). My husband could not put them down. They were really good when they were still warm.
