Apple Crisp with Oat Topping

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

I used 6 small boneless pork chops and they were perfect for this sauce amount. It was a hit and I will definitely make this again. The chops were not dry at all.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

It is now the recipe I use everytime I make cornbread. I too melt the butter in the cast iron skillet and bake my cornbread in that skillet. My husband loves it crusty and it is perfect! I follow the recipe just as it is written and love it!

Grilled Salmon I

This is a great recipe and will go into my file for one of the salmon options we like. I put mine under the broiler and it worked out very well. I like a bit of crusty edges and was able to get a bit of that.

Gourmet Root Beer Float

This is our favorite "go to" treat at the lake - use it all the time when we have guests. They almost always say, "I haven't had one of those in years" One trick I have learned and it is so helpful - don't chill the rootbeer. If you do, sometimes the ice cream gets crystals but if you serve it room temperature it tends to melt the ice cream and makes it seem like you have put whipped cream in it and it does not crystalize. I never add whipped cream but feel like I have.

World's Best Lemon Pie

Super recipe!!! Added about 1/3 cup lemon juice because thought it needed a bit more flavor. Next time will use more egg whites for meringue.

We give this very good reviews for taste. I agree that we needed more sauce so that is what I will do next time. I am still trying to find a way to make a crisp edge on salmon.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

This is an excellant recipe and I will definitely will use it again. I didn't feel 15 minutes prep time was right - I think it took more like 25 minutes by the time I chopped all the tomatoes and got it sliced and ready for the oven.

Chicken with Quinoa and Veggies

I rarely give any recipe 5 stars but this one really deserves it. It was so full of flavor and really tasty. I make it exactly like the recipe said except I didn't have a fresh tomato so used about 1/3 cup drained diced canned tomatoes. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Black Beans and Rice

I was really surprised how good this is. AFter reading comments I thought it was going to be bland but it isn't. The spices are perfect for the dish. I do agree one way to change it would be to add canned tomatoes, fresh cilantro and diced avocado. I only give it 4 stars because I save all my 5 star ratings for other-the-top-good.

I read the reviews of this and decided to make it just like it states but we were disappointed in the lack of taste. As I reread the comments I see most of the people really didn't make it the way the recipe says so wonder why they rated it so high.

Baked Kale Chips

Pecan Pie V

What a great pie. I made it for dinner guest and it got rave reviews. My husband can't stop eating it. On my second pie, I saved some half pecans to lay on top of the pie before baking. It made the pie more attractive.

This stuff is great as long as you bake it long enough. I had to stir it every few minutes so maybe that's why it took longer to bake - but my advise is - don't take it out until it is more than golden brown. We love this stuff.

Butter Pecan Ice Cream

This is an excellent recipe. I noticed the comment about using only egg yolks but if you follow the usual method of putting some of the hot mixture into the egg and stir together, it can be added to the hot mixture with no problem. I have found that pouring the mixture through a sieve makes it creamy. I used 3/4 cup brown sugar after reading the other comments and it was great. I will definitely make this recipe again.

This is really, really good. My husband loves it - didn't change anything. I served with ice cream and used the sauce in bottom of pan to pour over top of ice cream - awesome!
