About this Cook
Mom Of a 5 year old D, and a 13 S. Married to a wonderfully thoughtful husband. My husband and I work, he pulls the day shift, and I do the evening shift, that way the kids always have a parent around. But because I am not home in the evenings for supper, I have to find quick, easy and healthy meals for my family to eat while I am at work.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, cakes, pastries, bread and pies. I also love to make idian curries. I love to cook anything that has alot of flavor, so when I have a dinner party everyone says wow! This tastes amazing!
My favorite family cooking traditions
It's always been our tradition to make traditional fare for our holiday meals, and I stick too it! It's comforting, and a way to give something to my children!
My cooking triumphs
Baking pie shells!!! Ahh the pastry horrors of the past, but what an amazing triumph to place a golden brown, flaky pie crust filled with strawberries and rhubarb in front of my husband! I'll never forget how much he praised my accomplishment (because he knew how hard I had been working to get it "just " right!) Now that's love!
My cooking tragedies
Icing for cakes! Still haven't got the knack of it yet, but working hard at perfecting the right texture and technique to get it perfect!

Homemade Noodles
Noodles are harder to make than it looks, or for that matter, the recipe seems. I wasn't able to do it without adding water, it was way to dry without. After starting over after the first batch failed, they were really good! A wonderful addition to any soup, and nothing beats the texture and chewiness of homemade noodles!

Best White Icing Ever
This icing is way to greasy, it leaves a coating of grease in your mouth. I even used half butter and half shortening. I could imagine all shortening as being even worse. I used only 3 cups sugar and it was still too sweet. If I were too do it again, I would stick with the oldie but goody, all butter icing, with milk instead of water.
