Spring is just around the corner and this year in my family that means one thing:  Puppies!!   It's a sense of deja'vu of the best kind ever.  Fifteen years ago my parents had a Labrador retriever they bred and we got our Missy, who has been gone for 2 years now.  My parents had Missy's littermate and the two grew up playing with each other for just over 13 years.    Now here we are, 15 years later, and my sister has bred her lab (a "nephew" to Missy) and both us and my parents are getting a puppy!  Littermates once again; us a little girl, them a little boy.  Last time around we both had chocolates.  This time around we are both getting black.  I'm sure my blogs will be filled with stories of these two puppies!

Hello, Mother Ann! Congratulations! Nothing better than getting a puppy! She looks so cute and so does her brother. I had two female mixed Golden Retrievers from the same litter. They grew up together and we loved watching their antics. I am so wanting a puppy. ( Since our dogs have passed away.)

Ah what a pretty baby! I bet you are so in dog heaven :) I just got 3 babies today, no puppies though. 3 little chicks to add to my flock of egg layers.

Lela- our family has gone to the dogs! My sister (the one who owns the dad of this litter) is also now getting a puppy, too. It's gonna be fun!

Cat, we had egg layers years ago. Nothing better than fresh eggs! Enjoy your little chicks.

Mike, thanks! But, Missy is our chocolate lab that passed away 2 years ago - this litter is from the same bloodlines as her. Suzy (our current black lab) is no blood relation - but she'll have fun raising the little girl! :)

About Me
I've been married for 32 years, and live in Ohio. We have a daughter who is married and lives nearby. Our son graduated from college and moved to South Dakota. He has his own place but still goes to visit my sister and brother-in-law and have dinner with them occasionally. We have a black lab that gets to go duck hunting with dad, 2 cats, 2 cockatiels. We own a Mexican restaurant and are learning alot about the food industry. I love to eat, go camping, read, spend time with family and friends, watch movies, and drink wine; not necessarily in that order.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake - anything chocolate is fine with me. Seafood, chicken dishes and slow-cooker fare.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I enjoy cooking together with wine. We pop open a bottle of wine and get cooking. :-)
My cooking triumphs
Whenever I can put together a meal that gets many compliments and leaves the diners satisfied is a triumph in my book! I love to cook meals for family and friends.
My cooking tragedies
When I was first married we had my grandparent's-in-law over for a pot roast dinner. The meat came out great, but the potatoes and carrots were still half raw. My husband's grandfather went to cut his fork into a carrot and it flew off his plate. He looked at me, winked, and said he loved his carrots that way!
