Dinner at the Daughter's House

My husband was out of town all of this past week. If it weren't for my son coming home from college last Friday I would have been very lonely indeed. That, and my daughter took care of me, too! She invited me and her brother over for dinner on Thursday.
Kristal has been married almost two years. No kids yet, just a cat and an adorable little cocker spaniel puppy named Maggie. When she got married I was seriously concerned about what they would eat. I don't think Kristal had spent more than a couple hours in the kitchen her entire life and most of those couple hours were spent scrounging through the cookie jar and refrigerator getting snacks to eat! I shouldn't have worried - she's done a fantastic job and her husband enjoys helping out in the kitchen and experimenting.
Her top recipe is homemade pizza. She makes the crust using a yeast recipe, piles on the toppings, throws it in the oven and YUMMY. Pizza is what she made Thursday night. Sometimes she makes it with chicken, mushrooms and broccoli. But, pepperoni is what we had for dinner. Steve hates broccoli and mushrooms so she was thinking of her brother. I'm pretty sure if it were the other way around and Steve was cooking - he'd make the one Kristal hated just to mess with her.
After we ate every last morsel we went to the livingroom to play with Maggie. Maggie is a very spoiled little puppy. If she is not getting enough attention to suit her, she drops her toy on your feet. Steve has a way with animals and she was more than willing to do whatever he wanted her to do.
My son-in-law and Kristal got a Wii about a month ago, so out came the game to play. I am extremely video-game challenged. My kids never spent much time playing them, so I never did either. Jake decided the bowling game would be easiest for me. I have to admit that it really was fun! We played about an hour, then the "boys" played some baseball. Jake warned me that I would be sore the next day from playing. Was he kidding me??!! Sore from "fake" bowling??!!
Friday morning arrived and I was happy I didn't feel sore anywhere. Huh! The old lady wasn't in such bad shape after all. Then, I took the dogs out and walked down the steps. I must have twisted my knee or something - it really hurt to put much weight on it! As the day went on I felt worse and worse. It felt like it's the size of a balloon, but didn't appear swollen at all. Today it feels a little better, thankfully. I would have been really embarrassed to have to go to the doctor and explain I injured my knee bowling - in my daughter's livingroom!
