Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
Excellent recipe ~ per other reviews, I added a bit more cream (instead of milk) and 1/2 can of cream of chicken soup so it wasn't dry. We had leftover pie crusts from pumpkin pies and leftover turkey from Thanksgiving that I used in place of the chicken ~ turned out excellent and even our very picky 11 year old had seconds and asked when I could make this again! Will definitely be making this again, great for leftover chicken or turkey!

Excellent recipe ~ I didn't change a thing and it turned out fantastic! All 4 of our kids loved it ~ it's almost impossible to find a recipe that everyone likes but this one hit the mark!

Cranberry Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
I made this for 3 Christmas parties we hosted this year and it was a huge hit every time. The first party was for a progressive dinner and everyone insisted we bring it with us to the next house! I served it over a brick of cream cheese with crackers on the side. Our kids also liked it with pretzels. It's really simple to make, the recipe makes a ton and it freezes very nicely. I will be making this every holiday from now on I'm sure!

Fried Rice I

Really good and easy. I added some sauteed cabbage and bean sprouts since I had them! I also used beef instead of bacon since that is also what we.

Holiday Cranberry Chutney

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
I made this for 3 holiday parties we hosted this year and it was a hit each time! The first party was a Progressive Dinner and everyone insisted we bring it with us to the next house, LOL! I served it over a brick of cream cheese (let it soften first) with an assortment of crackers. Our kids also liked it with pretzels. It's really easy to make, the recipe makes a TON and it freezes very well. I will be making this many more times I'm sure!

Restaurant-Style Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Awesome recipe! I followed this exactly and it came out perfect! We had a 4.2 lb roast, we cooked it for a little over an hour and let it set for 45 minutes or so. We do not like it very rare and this came out perfect! As the original poster stated, this roast loses none of it's juices so there is nothing left for au jus. I used a store-bought packet and substituted 1/2 cup of the water for port wine. I also added a couple of tablespoons of fat from the roasting pan for added flavor. The au jus turned out fantastic. I will definitely be making this prime rib again!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
This is the second time I made this cheesecake, I followed the recipe exactly the first time and it was fantastic...this time I attempted to make it "low carb" by substituting Splenda for the sugar and omitting the flour ~ it basically exploded in the over which surprised me because I have adapted plenty of other recipes in the past and never had this experience. Does anyone know why this would have happened? (I am rating this on how it came out the first time when I followed the recipe exactly, not on this attempt!),

Twice Baked Potatoes II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Very good, the kids raved about these! The taste is fantastic but they are rather time consuming. I made them a day ahead of time so that Christmas Day I wasn't in the kitchen all day. I also coated the outside of the skins with a little water and sea salt. Very good recipe and good as leftovers as well.

Bacon and Date Appetizer

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
We made this for a Christmas party we hosted this year...we only used the bacon and dates. It was a huge hit! I gave it 4 stars because we did have some leftovers and some of our other appetizers were gone...but my husband and I loved them!

We served this at a Christmas party we hosted...I thought it was just ok, nothing fabulous. I probably won't make this again.
