Chicken Fajita Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
My family and friends loved this. I made a few changes though. First, I ommited the cumin and I put the salsa on first and then the chicken mixture and then the cheese. I also used mexican blend cheese. I ended up having to make two of them for 5 of us. Great recipe. thanks.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
This recipe is amazing. I too love the starbucks pumpkin bread and have been looking for a copy cat recipe. This is almost just like it. I changed the recipe and added 1/2 teaspoon ginger and instead of 3 cups of white sugar I used 2 and 1 cup brown sugar. My family and I will enjoy this recipe for many years to come. I also think I will make this as Christmas presents for relatives. Thank you Laurie Bennett.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
These cookies are amazing. I read the other reviews and used the orange juice instead of water. I also used 1/4 cup brown sugar and 3/4 cup white sugar like someone else suggested. I feel like it makes it a little bit healthier. Even though it probably doesn't. I didn't have any margarine, so I just used real butter. I thought they were wonderful, especially dipped in coffee. yum. However, my family thought they had just a little too much of a salty taste. Maybe next time I will cut down on the salt. Also, I used unsulfured molasses and I think thats what make them a lighter color. If you want to get the darker effect, then I believe the answer is blackstrap molasses. I've read that it's not as sweet as the others, so maybe a little more sugar will be needed, but it has iron and other things that make these cookies a little healthier. Thank you for the great recipe. It will defenitely be a keeper in my family.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Fantastic recipe. I didn't do it exactly how the recipe called. I sauteed onions, garlic, and celery in the butter then added the flour and then water with boullion cubes. Then, I added the potatoes, and ham and let it simmer until the potatoes were soft. Then I added salt, pepper and a little bit of thyme. At the very end, I added the milk. Not 2 cups though, just enough to make it a little creamier. My whole family loved it. Thanks so much for a hearty, warming recipe.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
I've always had my eye out for a good corn bread recipe and now i've found it. I coated a cast iron skillet with bacon grease, preheated it and poured the batter (made exactly like the directions say) in it. It came out wonderfully. My husband even said it was the best cornbread he had ever ate. Thanks for a great recipe.

Great Easy Waffles

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
great recipe! I didn't have any lemon, so i added orange zest. it was really good, but i would like to try them with the lemon. I love the crunchy outside and the soft inside. They didn't even stick at all. I thought the batter was a little thin at first, like maybe I had added too much milk, but they came out perfect.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
My name is amy and I AM a chocoholic. These are literally the best thing I have ever put into my mouth. FANTASTIC! I just don't know what I can say to describe it. I ate them first at my cousin's house dipped in white chocolate. She made me a bagful to take home and I mowed through them in the first day. Now I have been making them at least once a week. The key is COLD, they must be cold to roll and to dip. I'm in love.

not quite what i had expected. it defenitely needs some sweetness. i added about 2 tablespoons brown sugar and about 1 tablespoon white sugar. i also added the flax seeds to make it a bit more healthy. it has a very good apple flavor, i used granny smith apples and motts unfiltered apple juice.
