Woo-hoo! Does the shimmy shimmy swerve and shake through the living room. "I can bweef!!" No more stuffy head. No more ichy yucks and NO more Creepy Crud! Yay me! After a two week bout with gummed up breathing, hence the bweef, I am feelin' fine! And…
MORE
I am the ~MoM~ to 5 sons. Yes that's 5 and ALL boys ranging down from 22 to 8 years old...sighs. This means an awful LOT of feeding goin' on 'round here! I cook in super large quantities! So breaking it down takes me a LOT to get used to on those rare occasions that hubby and I are home alone :) We also have a LOT of pets and I often cook for them too. Treats only! or I would go insane! 1 hubby, 5 sons, 3 dogs, 4 cats and 2 guinea pigs? Trust me when I say there is never a dull moment 'round here and when received- silence is purely golden!
My favorite things to cook
Cake! Red Velvet with Cream cheese and White chocolate frosting, ~Cookies! Chewy Oatmeal, ~Potato salad, Beans ~n~ Rice Glop ( hehehe sometimes I let the boys name their favorite dishes) Joe's Surprise (Hubby's concoction but an Often requested main dish)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Getting together during the Yule holiday to bake cookies. This encompasses all of us in varying ages with cookies to make, bake and decorate by even the youngest! Maybe the grand babies are sitting with the grandparents and 'cooking' chocolate pretzels! While older ones are creating stained glass sugar 'puzzles' or the veterans of us are creating gingerbread cutouts to sugar glaze or hand 'paint' frost for snacking or covering the tree. Once all of the cooking and decorating is done every single one of us takes a plate home of every variety.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I can cook something that is a hit with all the family and fills them all up? Is a triumph for me! :D
My cooking tragedies
My biggest tragedy was while learning how to cook. I didn't fully comprehend what the ingredient abbreviations meant...sighs....and when something called for t. salt I used T (tablespoons) instead! OMG! those were absolutely the saltiest cookies ever!
