Sweet Green Bean Bundles

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2012
These tasted good but looked unappealing. I followed the directions, except for using fresh beans. At the end of the 45 minutes, the beans were a shriveled mess. I brought them to a pot luck and hardly anyone ate them. Such a waste of fresh beans and A LOT of bacon.

Amazing Slow Cooker Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2012
I made this to try out a brand new replacement crock pot. Since it's summer and hot outside, I didn't want to try my usual crock pot fare (soups, etc) so I figured dessert would be nice! This had a very interesting texture at different parts. The outsides and bottom are inedible (to me) and rubbery. The top and middle are good, though still odd. I'm guessing others might have more luck depending on what kind of crock pot you have and how hot it runs. I won't be trying this again in mine, though. At least I know it works!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
WAY too much pepper. Otherwise pretty bland in flavor, but maybe the pepper was drowning it out for me. Going to have to chuck the leftovers. Bummer.

Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
Very good. I had to get my butterscotch blazing hot to completely melt, so unfortunately my chocolate chips melted when I stirred them in later. So I couldn't really taste the butterscotch, but oh well, they were nice and chewy and yummy! Had to bake for 25 minutes, at 20 the middle was still jiggly.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
Very disappointing. Note I'm rating the actual recipe as written. The topping was entirely too heavy to allow the muffins to rise, despite only using half of what it actually makes. The topping caused the muffin middles to sink in and then majorly overflow the cups. They look disastrous, but taste okay. But still a low rating for recipe flaws.

Honey Graham Crackers

Very bland, even topped with cinnamon sugar. The uncooked dough tasted MUCH better. Bummer.

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
Very good tasting cake, quite moist and dense. The batter is super runny, and at most about 1 1/2 inches deep after rising during baking. You'll definitely have to layer it. I did not try the frosting.

Followed directions exactly. A tad spicy for us, but good nonetheless.

Bread Machine Focaccia

Made almost exactly as written, using dried rosemary instead of fresh. Made some great paninis and yummy bread otherwise!

Made as written, beating the ever loving heck out of it as others suggest. Tastes like sugar cookie!

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
This was very good and easy. However, just using 1 tsp of dill weed (half what is called for) was a little too much for me. Otherwise, yummy.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
This didn't turn out that great for me. This was most likely due to user error and lack of time. Definitely not comparable to Chinese take-out.

Deep Dish Alfredo Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
We did not like the crust, thus the low score. HOWEVER, the sauce is great! I've made it twice. This might be a given, but it is much better with "fresh" parmesan you buy in the bag in the dairy section, as opposed to the grated powder stuff in the green cylinders. Definite difference in texture.

This was really REALLY easy! This was the first time I've ever made or tried using fondant and it worked beautifully. Plus, it tastes really good!

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
These taste amazing! However, I rated it 4 stars due to proportions stated in the recipe. I was able to get by with one 8 oz box of chocolate. It also seemed like 9 crushed cookies for the topping was waaaay too much. I would also suggest sprinkling the topping right after you dip each piece in chocolate (I waited until done with all of them and the first ones were already set). I bet these would be even more amazing in white chocolate.

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
Since I made this in a regular pie pan (don't have a springform), there was enough filling to almost fill up two, definitely too much for one. It ended up baking just fine without cracks. I put the prepared filling in the fridge while making the crust which allowed for distinct, separate marbling. I was hoping you could discern the "plain" cheesecake flavor from the pumpkin, but the pumpkin overwhelmed everything. Still, very good, and very easy.

Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta

This was okay. It wasn't spectacular (maybe it was the seasoning I used? or skim milk?) but was fast and simple. Felt like it was missing something.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Very good and easy. I use unpeeled red potatoes. I just throw the first part in my crock pot for a few hours, then add the roux for another couple of hours.
