Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
I was very disappointed in these bars. It doesn't taste like Reese's, and believe me, I would know. The graham cracker crumbs ruin the texture, it was mealy and grainy. I'd much prefer the taste of buckeyes, you can probably make that recipe into a bar.

Caramel Frosting V

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
This is a delicious frosting! I usually make the Betty Crocker Caramel Frosting, but it's very heavy and sweet. This is light and fluffy and still maintains a strong caramel flavor. I did cut the brown sugar almost in half and I used it on a banana cake and it was just right, plenty sweet. I highly recommend this frosting. It would be great on an apple cake.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
I've made these about a dozen times now and they're the best brownie recipe ever. These are for true brownie officianados! They're very moist (make sure to cook them all the way through). They get a nice crust on top that make them perfect just dusted with powdered sugar. The chocolate chips take away the need for frosting.

Black Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
Very moist, easy cake. I made it with 2 Tbs. instant coffee in the boiling water and it was divine. I cut each 9" round in half horizontally and filled each layer with the sweetened whipped cream recipe then coated in all in the pro ganache recipe on this site. Next time I will double the whipped cream recipe (wasn't enough) and add more sugar, it's not a very sweet cake with the bitterness of the coffee. Delicious recipe!

Slider-Style Mini Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
These are delicious! I tested the recipe last night before using it for a party this weekend and was very impressed-the whole family raved. They're simple to make, and you can easily brown the meat and onion ahead of time. Once the cheese and mayo were added, the consistency allowed me to form small patties. I worried about what the baking would do to them, but the buns got crispy on the edges and the cheese bubbled a little while it cooked. I baked it the whole 30 min. in foil as directed. They'll be easy to assemble ahead of time, keep them in the foil and then pop them in the oven when the guests start to arrive. It's not a typical slider, but they're fun and delicious! Would make a great appetizer!
