This recipe is definitely a keeper! My husband and I are not huge fans of soup but with so many great reviews, we wanted to try something new for a cold night - are we ever glad we did! I altered it like others recommended - sauteed the vegetables (celery, carrots, onion and garlic), used chicken broth (low sodium) instead of water, added salt and pepper to taste, added peas, added 2 cups of ham, and used the immersion blender a little bit so there were still some little chunks. It was a hit. Even our 3 and 5 year old ate it. This is going in our dinner rotation.
