New England Clam Chowder II

Great taste, but too thin of a consistency.

Made it as directed except for: adding in 1 tsp minced garlic and mixed in egg yolk in a cup of cooled broth and then added it in, as a previous reviewer suggested. This worked well. Added it to fettucine, sliced chicken sausages, and broccoli. A rich and tasty dinner. Sauce is just like those found in country Italian restaurants. High saturated fat and calorie content will keep it on the once in a while splurge list, but it's worth it.

Broccoli and Stilton Soup

Nice filling soup. Some may want to add more stilton for a stronger flavor, but I liked it as is. Definately needs added pepper and perhaps salt.

Low-Fat Blueberry Bran Muffins

Winter Lentil Vegetable Soup

This is a great soup! If you don't undercook the lentils they break up and just give it a 'meaty' texture. I doubled the chicken stock to make it less stew-like and more soup-like and added a couple tablespoons of fresh parsley. It's easy to make, low-fat and low-calorie, and so yummy you forget it's good for you. Definately a staple to keep on hand for munching.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Decent sugar cookies - of the slightly puffy variety. This doesn't make the crisp, buttery kind I really love - but it's still good.

Brandied Candied Sweet Potatoes

A wonderful, easy, adult-tasting recipe. Served it for Thanksgiving and it went wonderfully with all the other flavors. You can just get a hint of the brandy coming through and it's wonderful. Will use less butter next time though. Didn't need half a cup.

Diane's German Chocolate Cake

Have made this several times and is always a hit. Halfway between scratch and box taste and the frosting is wonderful - just give it a lot of time to thicken. yum

Turkey Tetrazzini I

Just so-so, would find a different recipe for this dish next time. Way too bland for our tastes, I could imagine kids liking it because of this though. Did use a can of mushroom soup because it was way too dry otherwise. Also, would recommend using a different type of pasta, angel hair really clumped together.
