About this Cook
Cooking is my new hobby. I have changed hobbies every couple of month (knitting, sewing, ect.) but just recently discovered I have confidence to cook and even *gasp* alter recipes! I love to taste new and healthy foods that I know all the ingredients are healthy or in moderation. I have recently become aware of what healthy and good eating is like. My parents didn't make a lot so buying good ingredients is new to me and my mom worked and just didn't have time to explore cooking.
My favorite things to cook
SPICY... my 2 year old daughter eats pepper and anything spicy. We love to have flavor!
My cooking triumphs
Bruschetta was the first recipe someone asked me for... others are Alvacodo Salsa, Sausage Chowder, Chili, Sweet and sour chicken, Peanut Butter Pie, Pumpkin Pie...
My cooking tragedies
Frist time making Tomato Soup when married... burnt it. My husband ate it and said it wasn't too bad... I cried!

Tex-Mex Potatoes
I like this recipe because I normally have these ingredients, but it offers a different taste to my normal uses for them. I made this with fries because I didn't have potatoes at the time. It is amazing!

Asparagus, Feta and Couscous Salad
The only complaint I have is that the couscous absorbed too much of the balsamic flavor and the rest didn't. If I were to make it again I would combine the couscous and the rest right before serving.

Peppermint Meringues
I added 1/8 teaspoon of peppermint extract and it was so great! I had a hard time making them look pretty, but this was my fist time making meringues.
