Easy Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2013
This recipe was delicious! Even my picky 5 year old ate 2 helpings! I used store bought biscuit dough to make it faster, but the base was amazing!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
I did not like the sweet dressing, so I added and additional 1/4 cup vinegar to give it a tart taste. Everyone loved it and had seconds!

Best Bean Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
Almost as good as Mom's! I left out the garbanzo and black beans-taste preference, and this was great. I also heated the oil, vinegar, sugar while stirring and after it cooled poured it over beans and veggie mixture.

Breakfast Pizza I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
Not a pizza, but a great casserole. I did cook crescent rolls for 4 minutes before layering ingredients on top. I also used Jimmy Dean pre-cooked sausage, but it turned out great!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
YUM! I omitted jalapenos, and only had 1 can of beans, but enough to serve 4 still. Depth of flavor was awesome for a slow cooker meal. Served over tortilla chips with cheese on top.

These tasted just like fudge balls. Good, but not what I was hoping for. Easy to make and the kids loved them.

Easy Herb Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
After using the 24 hour citrus brine on this site, I used these spices mixed with butter and applied under the skin. 17 lb turkey cooked in 3 hours, I removed the foil and let it brown for 15 minutes. My FIL-who doesn't eat turkey-can't stop raving about this years Thanksgiving turkey...Super recipe!!!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
Husband said "hearty", I said "Yum", 2 kids (3 and 4) said "Eeww". 2 out of 4 ain't bad, but it really was FANTASTIC! The only thing I changes was adding a few cilantro leaves while stewing.

Salsa Onion Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2011
A good starter recipe, but needs more Tabasco, (and I am not too keen on spicy) but you could hardly taste the 2 tsp that was added. I did use a less spicy salsa with "sweet heat". My hubs loved the idea, so we will be altering it next time.

Sirloin Steak with Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
Yum! Cooked 3 NY Strip steaks and used the first one sliced over a spinach, red onion and blue cheese salad. Hubby LOVED it, and the best part, there are still 2 steaks left over to have for lunch tomorrow...hmmm...what to use them with next?

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
I use this every time my kids and I make cookies, sooo easy and looks perfect when dried. I try to make it a little runny with double the milk so my kids can paint rather than ice the cookies. I usually quadruple the recipe to have enough for the 3 dozen cookies I make.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
Made this for a party...too garlicky for my taste, but the other flavors were great. I did make it the night before to let the flavors blend as suggested and that may be why it was sooo garlicky. Will use less next time.

Marinade for Steak I

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
I used this marinade in place of my husband's usual, and it was great. I only let it marinate for about 30-45 minutes before cooking, but it was still very flavorful. Couln't taste the dijon which I don't like anyway. Used McCormick's Smokehouse black pepper for an extra kick

Scones

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
Made these for a "Royal Wedding Tea Party" the night before. They were great when hot, but a bit dry when they cooled. Served with clotted cream and raspberry preserves which spiced up the flavor, but by themselves, they were quite bland.

Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
My new go-to marinade for fajita meat, we squeezed some lime juice over the top to marinate. It was so flavorful, we want to try it again and marinate overnight.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: May 6, 2011
A dash of cloves was a great flavor booster! Tgis is a great starting point and easy to sub ingredients. I did decrease brown sugar to 1/2 c, and used applesauce instead of oil-personal preferences. They came out soft and chewy, but I mixed them really well so they would stick together.
