German Currywurst

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
Next time I'll cook the sausage in the sauce for a little bit, but this was a great recipe!

This was great! My boyfriend said it was in his top three dishes I've ever cooked!

Sweet And Sour Chicken Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
Sauce was too soupy and I had to add one whole cup of bread crumbs to the meatballs to get them to form, thus making them a little bland.

Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
I left the lemon zest out as suggested...but the sauce was great! There was enough sauce to use with noodles as a side. The italian dressing I used was kraft's roasted red pepper and parmesan italian, so i don't know if that was just an added bonus, as i've never used it before. excellent inexpensive meal!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Too many bread crumbs, about a 1/4 cup would be plenty, then this would be a five star recipe. I'll try it again with this one modification!

Sweet Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
I chopped the pecans and stirred them along with the coconut into the casserole, then topped the casserole with marshmallows. This is officially a Thanksgiving staple for me now!

Thai Pineapple Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
Great recipe, with some tweaks. As suggested, I only used 1 can of coconut milk and I added the two tbs flour/water combination at the end. Instead of curry paste, I used about 3 tbs yellow curry powder. I also added 1/3 cup of raisins when I added the veggies. This was fantastic and one of my top five ultimate recipes!

Three Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
This was fantastic! Made as is (used Gwaltney's chicken hot dogs, suggested by Kroger customer--which were great!). It was a cold night in Virginia, and this was so filling. Served it with cheap heat and serve rolls, a meal for four around $7.00, can't beat that!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
Awesome recipe! Another recipe idea with this would be to use boneless, skinless chicken breasts, double the curry (for my taste, and I would omit the salt) and marinate overnight. This would make a great chicken sandwich!

Campbell's® Slow Cooker Hearty Beef and Bean Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
Five stars with these modifications: I added a cup of frozen corn and next time I will add some chopped green pepper and some cayenne pepper seasoning. Great base recipe for beginning cooks!

Zesty Chicken Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Maybe it was just my taste buds. I used 1/4 cup less of bread crumbs (as suggested) and it was still too dry. The texture of the meal was just odd, even for 'meatloaf'. So, maybe I'm not a fan of chicken meatloaf, but I'll stick to regular meatloaf.

Sausage Linguine with Ginger Pumpkin Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Looking at this dish on my stove, I thought it was going to be terrible...not going to lie, it was okay. I added a can of chicken broth and used about 4 tbs cream, but it was still really thick. Maybe I bought the wrong pumpkin stuff. I think this recipe could be really good if there is a good chef out there to fix it. Sadly, I am not that chef.

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
This is my 2nd, updated review. The mistake I made the first time was I stirred all ingredients before putting in the oven. Do not do this! Just prepare exactly as directed and it will not dry up. When I added the onions and mushrooms, I added about 1/4 cup of extra wine, and it was great!

Chicken Cheese Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
I wish this would've been a little thicker, but I think it's just my lack of cooking skills when it comes to flour. The taste overall, was great! I added about a cup of frozen corn and used frozen cubed hash browns for the potatoes. Will definately make again!

Ham and Swiss Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
This casserole is a must for anytime you have leftover ham. It's so simple and easy to substitute with ingredients you have an hand. I used celery instead of green pepper and elbow macaroni I had leftover. I stirred all the ingredients together instead of layering, and even threw in some poppy seeds. I topped the casserole with about a 1/4 c of the cheese. so good!

Cheesy Pork Chops with Spicy Apples

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
I think this would've been better as a skillet meal, cutting the pork and adding it to the vinegar sauce. I thought the pork was bland, but the apples were great. Next time I'll try it the skillet way, adding shredded cheddar at the the end and serving over rice.
