About this Cook
I enjoy cooking even now it is only for my self and husband. I live on 10 1/2 acres and have 9 horses, nine cats, 6 rabitts, two dogs, 6 goldfish (in a small pond 135 gals.), 12 Koi (in a large pond 3200 gals.) and of course the hundreds of birds we feed all year. I am not a person that would do anything but what the reciepe said untill I got on this site and got to reading the reviews and got some ideas myself. So now I fallow the directions maybe the first time then I can do some things on my own or with someone elses ideas. The point being is this site has helped me grow as a cook. I still am a little worried to change things but much better.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook smiple things that have a lot of flavor. I don't like to have to go to the store and buy some many spices or stuff that I would olny use in that reciepe then it goes to waste. Pork is my favorite then chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom was a person that did not use a lot of recipes or would look at one and say I don't have that so I will use this and maybe some of this other. She tried to teach me how to bake her specil biscuits and she never measured, just went by feel and they always came out the same.
My cooking triumphs
I don't know if I can say I have triumphs but like I said I am doing much better.
My cooking tragedies
I have cooked a couple things that did not turn out that great but so far I have never had to throw anything out because we couldn't eat i, I my have thrown out any that was left over.

Creamy Chicken and Rice
I used jasmine rice from a rice steamer and I thought it had really good flavor. I would make this again and again. I did add a little more seasoning to the sauce, but very good!

Best Apple Pie
My husband can not have sugar so I tried this for him and we both love it. It was the first pie I have ever made, and it turned out really good. I have improved with the next two pies, but did not change a thing. Thank you!!!!!!!
