Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Delish!!!..I made this recipe & a while after it had started cooking.. I unexpectedly found out I had to feed 3 more people...so to make it go further...I added more chicken..I added pepper & a few other items like garlic, onion,& celery powder & paprika to make up for only having 1 pkg. of italian dressing on hand & the only other soup I had suitable was cream of celery..( I also added another 1/2 pkg. cream cheese)& I also sauteed onions & fresh mushrooms... served on the side..which we ended up mixing it all together anyways..as it was so tasty!..served over no yolks noodles...& with a salad...it was loved by all! my elderly dad had leftovers the next day..he loved it too! next time I would use low fat cream cheese & soup.

Tossed Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
I just completed making this for a tailgate party tomorrow, I doubled the dressing because I added more broccoli & also added about 3/4 cup of matchstick carrots for color plus a couple handfulls of craisins (which I got from another broccoli salad recipe) and added some black pepper to the dressing. I sampled it, then sampled it again as it was so delicious! will def. make again.

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
This is the first time I've ever made a cake roll. I made this for a party at my daughters house last night, It was yummy! several people asked how I made it & thought it was delicious, But for the filling I used ready made Philidelphia cheesecake filling & on top I drizzled a caramel glaze made with butter, brown sugar, vanilla & cream. i would make this again!

Shortcut Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
I made a carrot today for my sisters b-day dinner tonight (carrot cake is her favorite) I used this as a guide somewhat as it was the only recipe I could find made with a box mix, I used a store bought carrot cake mix, substituted some of the pineapple juice for some of the water in the cake recipe, added shredded coconut and used walnuts instead of pecans, & less shredded carrots, my cream cheese frosting was butter, cream cheese, confectioners sugar & vanilla, then I decorated it with fine ground walnuts & "carrots" made from frosting that i dyed orange & green used a baggie with a corner snipped. It looks pretty & I am sure it will taste just as good as it looks!(see photo) I'm giving a 5 star rating to myself!

Quick Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
Yummy! I made this for dinner tonight, I used only about 3/4 cup cooking marsala wine, with about 1 1/2 tsp sugar(I like my marsala sauce a bit sweeter) I browned my chicken (which I cut up in smaller pieces) in butter & olive oil, while the chicken was browning in a separate pan i sauteed about 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms in butter with 1/4 chopped red onion, then In with the chicken added blk pepper the cooked mushrooms & onions (with juices)& soup, covered & simmered till done, then stirred in about 1 tbls of 1/2 & 1/2 and served over hot linguine. My husband said it was as good as hes had in any restaurant, & I must agree it was delicious & will make again & again.

Delicious Easy Chicken Francese

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
chicken francese is one of the most frequent dishes I order out, Its a favorite! I decided to try to make it at home. I variated this recipe just a little to what I had on hand and I used thin sliced chicken breasts, I salted & peppered them. I dredged in flour,(no egg.. forgot it!) and sauteed & browned nicely in vegetable oil in large skillet, probably 5 mins or so set chicken aside on a plate, to the skillet I added about 1 & 1/2 cups broth, 1/2 cup or so Arbor Mist white zinfandel (all I had) 1 fresh lemon squeezed dry on a hand juicer, couple big chunks of butter, salt/pepper/garlic powder & parsley. I let that cook down just a bit, I didnt have corn starch so i used flour to thicken a bit, added my browned chicken to the sauce, covered & simmered for another 5-7 minutes or so.. last thing i did was stir in another pat of butter & served over hot pasta...my husband said, we dont need to go out to eat anymore if i can get meals like this at home! It really was delicious, so much so that I plan on making it for company.

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2010
I made this for dinner last night the only real major difference is that I used about 1/2 pkg. McCormick beef stew seasoning, added some black pepper, garlic powder, a few fresh basil leaves & paprika and I didnt have any turnips on hand, it turned out great and reminded me of my moms beef stew she used to make only her biscuits were made with bisquick.

Restaurant Style Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2010
I made this for dinner tonight, mine was easier yet, I just used 1 large & 1 small jar of ready made pasta sauce, 1 can of chopped tomatoes & added only a bit of garlic pepper & garlic salt for a little extra flavor and it tasted great, not the best I've ever had but it was still very good, hubby liked it too!

Pork Chops with Onions and Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I made this for dinner tonight, I didnt follow exact measurements of anything but used all the ingredients given {less pepper, less onion} after my chops were just about done grilling, I added them to the pan of my cooked apple/onion mixture simmered for about 7 minutes more, covered. I had a forkful with every bite of my pork and thought it was very tasty! my husband wasnt a big fan of the apple/onion mixture but then again, he is not a big onion fan, my bad! I guess i was thinking of myself when I decided to make this dish!

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
This was really good, I did make some changes though. I cut up my chicken breast in pieces & browned in olive oil in saucepan, while the chicken was browning, in another saucepan & sauteed 2 clove crushed garlic, sliced button mushrooms & about 1/2 red onion, covered on low, when the chicken was browned on both sides I added about 3/4c fat free chicken broth, about 1/2 c white wine & about 1/2 of a fresh squeezed lemon, salt/pepper to taste, some fresh broccoli florets, & some fresh cut up asparagus(thats what i had on hand) simmered till veggies were tender, added my mushroom/onion saute & then thickened my sauce w/ a little flour...& served over egg noodles...yeah, it was good! hubby really liked it too!
