Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
Fantastic! I omitted the nuts (personal preference) and baked for 15 minutes instead of 12 and they are amazing. I dont know why everyone else is having to add more flour but mine turned out great! Thanks for sharing this recipe! Def will make this my "go to" oatmeal cookie recipe :)

Momma's Sloppy Joes

These are good and easy. A little strong on the yellow mustard flavor, but hubby liked it a lot! I like that they're made with turkey. It's still very meaty, but not greasy like ground beef would be.

This was good enough I'll make it again. Maybe next time I'll add mushrooms to the sauce. The gravy was a bit scarce for the amount of meat.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Delicious! I spread honey dijon mustard over the chicken after rolling it & covered it in bread crumbs. I Then quickly browned it in 3 tbsp butter & 3tbsp olive oil, then transferred onto baking sheet & baked for 30 mins at 350 degrees. I made the sauce in the pan with the drippings from browning the chicken. IT'S AMAZING!!!

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
These taste fantastic! I made them exactly as this recipe says. They were super easy. The only thing was that I added two minutes to the cooking time and a couple of them still could have used a little more time baking. I used a PC cooking stone & parchment paper & my oven is less than 2 years old, so I don't know why. My DH doesnt like almond flavoring of Mexican Wedding cookies, so I found these instead, and boy am I glad I did!

Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
This pie was a hit on Thanksgiving. It was easy to make and I'm still enjoying the pumpkin butter that was left over. I chose this one because it only calls for one bar of cream cheese, as opposed to three. It's not really like a cheesecake but more of a creamy smooth pumpkin pie. Definitely a keeper!

Made these exactly as recipe instructed and they turned out great. Used the food processor for most of the blending & mixing so it was zippy fast. Cooked them for 15 minutes and they were perfect. They are so buttery and almost melt in your mouth... it's hard to stop eating them! Thank you for this recipe.

Glazed Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
These are delicious! I followed some suggestions of other reviewers & the substitutions I made were: replace shortening with butter, bake at 375 for 9-10 minutes, and used pecans instead of walnuts. I've also tried it with almonds which is delicious. I mainly used my food processor, first to chop the nuts, and then for most of the mixing. I move it to the bowl & mix by hand when it's time to incorporate the 2nd half of the dry ingredients. These were a real crowd pleaser and perfect for the fall season! Thank you so much for a wonderful and easy recipe!

Quick and Easy Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
Had been looking for recipes that helped w/my overabundance of fish sticks, and also for a good fish taco recipe. This met both. It is super easy. I make a pico de gallo by using diced tomato, red onion, cilantro and lime juice to serve with. I also mix sour cream w/ Lawry's Baja marinade to taste to put in the tacos. This is a new favorite!

I love lime, but these were too much, or maybe just not enough of a balancing flavor. Maybe some spice would do it good.

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Love these! I use more cheese than the recipe calls for & eyeball everything. It's such an easy recipe to make. They are good w/o the basalmic if you really like asparagus, but if you've never had it with, you have to try it.... it's awesome! This recipe is a regular in my house now.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2007
This is always a hit and very yummy, even for my friends who say they don't care for fish. I do add 1/2 c. plain bread crumbs to the topping as one user had suggested & the topping stays on fine when broiling. I serve with a lemon wedge on top & it looks very appealing.

Roasted New Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2007
These are absolutely yummy and always a hit! The only reason they are 4 stars is because sometimes they are really roasted and crunchy & other times not so much & I have to put them back in for longer. I do the same thing every time & cant figure out why. Make sure to use plenty of pepper (fresh ground makes a huge difference) and plenty of salt. Definitely a keeper.

Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Followed this recipe with the exception of replacing the dill with fresh pressed garlic. Not a big fan. Hardly any got eaten at a New Years Eve gathering, but they did taste better the second day though. Needs more than just a few changes to make this recipe better than okay.

Joelle's Famous Hot Crab and Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
This recipe is a hit! I lightened it up by substituting low fat mayo and Neufchatel cheese for cream cheese. I also doubled the amount of crabmeat (2 lbs). It seemed that it would be too thin with the heavy cream, so I left it out completely. With these changes, I would give the recipe 5 stars, but it definitely needs thinning. Also is served well with club crackers.

I tend to agree that the corn needs to be creamier, not just whole kernals immersed in a crazy amount of cream. Thanks anyway.

These were okay. The sugar never really liquified so they were "grainy". I may have had my expectations set too high after having pralines from New Orleans... will keep looking. Thanks anyway!
