Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
Very tasty dressing, but used barely half the sugar it called for, and I still thought it was sweet.

Forfar Bridies

As written, the lamb is a bit heavy and fatty to me. Perhaps its more traditional, but I prefer this made with ground turkey or beef. However, the great thing about this recipe is how versatile it is. It's an odds and ends meal, and one I make at least once a month!

Delicious as written, but we also like to add some ground turkey! Fantastic, and even better as leftovers!

Fantastic. We love to freeze these and then take the frozen patties down to the park to grill outdoors. Yum!

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry

Quite spicy!! We don't add the cayenne as my husband enjoys burn your face off spicy, while I just enjoy pretty spicy food. After the food is served up, we prefer just to add sriracha so each person can doctor up their own.

Sausage and Lentils

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
Bland as written, but delicious if you sub chicken stock for the water the recipe calls for. We also threw in a can of diced tomatoes, lots of garlic, strips of bell pepper, and chili powder. This is one of those meals where you can throw in any veggie odds and ends you have, and it just improves the base recipe. With the tweaks mentioned, the recipe was a solid 4 or 4.5 star dinner.

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Far, far, FAR too much sugar. I halved it, and it was delicious. Why use a tart ingredient if you're going to drench it in sugar to the point you can't taste it?

Spinach Basil Pesto

Pretty tasty, but a bit bland. The second time I made it, I threw a 5 oz can of black olives into the mix, and it zinged!
