The Best Bean and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2015
I have been making soup for 30 plus years and this is, by far. the best I have ever made. As others, I soaked the beans overnight. I omitted the chili powder (personal choice)--cannot understand why its not a 5 star recipe.

Sweet and Sour Chicken Tenders

Fantastic...I doubled the sauce per other people and cut down on the vinegar. Served it with a Knorr Teriyaki Noodle mix and stir fried veggies. Will be making this again and again

Hush Puppies

It needed more flavor. I expected to be able to mix them into balls but they just kinda flattened out when frying. Will not try this one again.

Cheesy Bacon-Bean Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2013
Great basic recipe but needs a little zip. I added perhaps 1/4 tsp chili powder to the beans. Folding the tortillas over and cooking two at a time is a great time saver.

Cheese and Sausage Stuffed Zucchini

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2012
Basically the taste was good but not great. Perhaps my zucchini was too large but even though I followed the directions and nuked it and baked it, the skin was extremely tough. I ended up peeling off the skin.

Slow Cooker Baked Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
I soaked the beans last night and even so today I cooked them on high in my crock pot for 9 hours. I did reduce the maple syrup to 1/4 cp and reduced the onion by half. Still there was something lacking in flavor so I added 1/2 cp bbq sauce. They are great and I will use the revised recipe again and would definitely recommend this to friends.

Coconut Cake III

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
Made this cake yesterday and it was fantastic. My husband is still raving about it being the best cake he ever had. Just wondering why the picture shows a round layer cake but the recipe calls for a 9" x 12".

Renaissance Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
This was very good--a nice change from the usual sausage stuffed mushrooms. Next time I will increase the onions to 1/4 cp and sprinkle the tops with paprika. Might even try adding 2 cps spinach. Definitely a keeper.

Can't give this enough stars. The only change I made was to brush the crust with milk before baking.

This was easy and good. However the recipe says to add the parsley but the list of ingredients does not list parsley.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2007
Fantastic. I was skeptical and did add 1/4 cup water. It was moist and there was plenty of broth to make gravy.
