Butter Bean Veggie Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
This soup was delicious. We have a CSA (produce subscription) with our local farmers market and got butter beans for the first time. We used all fresh vegetables and herbs and it was great. We used two medium tomatoes in place of the stewed tomatoes and added a little extra salt and pepper to make up for it the seasoning that usually comes in canned vegetables. other than that, we didn't have to change a thing.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Delish! Although there is always the problem of reheated potatoes in soups disappearing but it just makes the soup a touch thicker and a bit less chunky. The better the sausage you buy the better this soup!

French Apple Tart (Tarte de Pommes a la Normande)

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
It's my first time making a tart and it turned out beautifully! We have a CSA with our local farmer's market and I really wanted to make a dessert with the beautiful mountain apples we got. I definitely recommend using different kinds of apples in the same pastry for added interest (I think I used three different kinds of apples!).

Best...burritos...ever. Period. And super easy to make vegan friendly (just omit the cheese). We made mini ones for a party and were wiped out!

Moroccan-Style Pork Shoulder Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
Love this recipe!! We cut the recipe in half (just me and my husband) and still have leftovers for the next day. We prefer to use dried apricots and the apricot/curry combo is fantastic!

Brazilian Collards

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
we got collard greens in our CSA and my not being very fond of southern food was so excited to find this recipe. We couldn't find peppered bacon so we used side meat (cooked twice as much needed to get the fat content and saved the rest of the meat to make a scramble in the morning). It was so flavorful with a little bit of spice. I think we found a recipe for any time we get collards again!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Excellent! I love sugar cookies (actually, they're about the only cookies I eat) and these were perfect. As far as the butter comments go, I had to look up exactly what creaming the sugar and butter meant for another recipe before and that helped a LOT with any recipe calling for it. Also, I sometimes like to make faux snickerdoodle and sprinkle them with sugar and cinnamon when they are still kinda wet, fresh out of the oven.
