Real Homemade Tamales

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2014
This was great and made me feel accomplished at my first attempt at tamales. The masa-lard-chicken stock (didn't have pork) mixture turned out really well. The chicken in the chili sauce was so awesome. I will keep working at the recipe and by the time my kid comes home, i can try it out on him, too!

Pico De Gallo

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2014
I really liked this but had to modify due to not having garlic powder/salt & jalapeños. I used a garlic clove that I had and a different type of pepper that I had that is green but not a jalapeño. I also added lime juice for a kick but you were right, once you have this with Mexican food, you won't want to be without it! Thanks.

How to Make Perfect Polenta

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2014
This was great! My picky preteen enjoyed it. He grunted and when done, went to the kitchen to put more in his bowl. I had powdered bouillon that I added to the water and it came out so very flavorful. I topped this with roasted peppers, asparagus, meatballs and grated Parmesan cheese. Thank you for the recipe!

Deep-Dish Cast Iron Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
This was delicious, easy & fun to make with my son! Directions were easy and the end result was delicious. I would add a little garlic seasoning to sprinkle over the top when you put it in the oven.

Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
I followed the instructions EXACTLY as listed and this dish was destroyed at Thanksgiving Dinner! Grown-ups that don't do stuffing and finicky kids alike ate this without taking a breath. I will make this for more than the holidays and do a once per month family dinner with this dish. Thanks so much!

Chinese Sweet Bun Dough

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2013
This is a really good recipe. I was multi-tasking, so I put all of the ingredients in the bread machine in the order of the recipe, save that I put the flour in last. The dough rose beautifully and I used a chicken/ cabbage/carrot filling, flavored with Chinese five spice, garlic and green onions. The egg wash made them beautifully golden. This was very easy and very tasty. We will use this again! Thank you for the recipe!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2013
This was an excellent alternative to the traditional green bean casserole with cream of mushroom. It's savory, creamy and delicious. I took the advise of others and steamed some fresh green beans & then followed the directions. This is a great recipe that the family loved. It will be added to the traditional meal.

Really like this recipe that produces doughnuts that aren't overly sweet & pop up nicely when frying. My family devoured them!

I really like it. These were easy to make & while mine didn't rise too high, they were still great with the burgers we made. I'll load the actual burger pics later. Thanks for the recipe!

Spam Musubi

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2013
Tried this tonight and really liked it! Had it with some maki. A bit salty so it's important to get the rice to spam ratio right!

Steakhouse Wheat Bread for the Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
I really liked this recipe. I followed it as written, save for using regular coffee instead of instant. It came out nicely & I like that the poster noted to use the regular, light settings when making this. The flavor is unique and the type of bread that makes you feel warm inside when you eat it. We served it with beef over pasta, garden salad & homemade lime aid. Great stuff!!!

Buttermilk Hush Puppies

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2013
These were really great. They were light yet flavorful with a great texture. The green onion added a really tasty punch to them. I used a deep fryer & they came out perfectly round. I am a fan of the recipe as it is and my family loved them with our dinner of spare ribs, coleslaw & potato salad.

Zucchini Appetizer

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
This was very quick, easy and tasty. My son is on a "no vegetables" kick and he ate most of this. If you let it cook for 5-7 minutes longer than suggested, you can get it separated a bit easier. Maybe it's my oven but that wasn't a huge problem for me. I also deviated a bit and used a Romano, Parmesan blend that I had on hand. It was very tasty and we used it for our Oscar party. There was a bit of tang that I didn't expect so I took off a star. Thank you for this recipe!

Nana's Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2013
This is absolutely delicious. I made this exactly as directed and got a dish that was creamy, rich with flavor and hearty. My son liked it a lot and he is not a beef fan. I only had ground beef on hand but it worked just fine following the same directions. I sprinkled the flour & salt mixture over the ground beef before placing it in the pan. It adds flavor and thickens the drippings. Thank you for adding this!
