Orange Dream

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
I used to make this years ago, but without the Cool Whip. Just used the soda and sweetened condensed milk. My favorite soda to use was A&W Root Beer. Just wonderful and everyone loved it. Sooo easy.

Slow Cooker Green Beans, Ham and Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2012
One of my childhood favorites, but I never thought of doing it in the slow cooker. Fabulous flavors.

German Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
This was the hit of our Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. I made it exactly as written. Friends from South Africa begged for the recipe which I of course gave them. You can't find German Cocolate here in rather rural Ireland, so she is going to attempt it with milk chocolate. I'll update after she's made it.

Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Grew up eating tuna fish and noodles, but we did not add peas or pimentos. Also, instead of bread crumbs, we buttered two slices of bread and tore them into pieces and covered the casserole top with them, buttered side up. They toast wonderfully in the oven and give it a nice crunch. My kids grew up with it too and now my grandsons are also. Yum!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
This was the best apple pie we have ever eaten. A friend had given me lots of apples from her trees and I used them in this recipe. I followed the recipe except that I used frozen (thawed) pie crust. It was just awesome !

Homemade Wine Coolers

Reviewed: May 23, 2013
I only gave it four stars because I'm looking for something like Seagrams wine coolers, in specific, Wild Berries. Anybody got a recipe for this? I've only found 1 decent wine cooler in Ireland.

Sweet Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2013
My mom use to make this for us without the egg or vanilla. She put nutmeg or cinnomon on top and we just called it thickened milk. We loved it for breakfast. My sister and I still love it for breakfast.

Almond Carrots

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2013
Yummy. For Adriana, the lady who didn't like the oregano/almond combination, it might be because you were suppose to use dried BASIL not oregano. Try it again with the right ingredients, you might like it.

Jasmine's Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
This is the way I make them except I leave out the boiling step. I cook the panchetta and garlic, cut the sprouts in half and throw them in the pan. Cook till just tender. Soooo good. Only way my family wants them.

Snow Peas Oriental

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
Has anyone made this with something other than chicken broth? Like maybe vegetable broth? Visitors coming and I'd like to make this, but one is allergic to all poultry and one is a vegetarian. Help?

Tartar Sauce I

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2012
I've been making this for years except I use dill relish instead of sweet, just as a personal preference. Why buy storebought when making it yourself is so quick and easy?

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
This was so good, I could have eaten the whole pot by myself. I did add about 3 times the amount of ham and when I looked at the pot, I didn't think it would be enough for 3 of us (one being a teenage boy), let along 6 to 8. But it was very filling and there was a small amount left over. Very hearty and filling on a cold Irish night. Will be making this all winter. Update: I've already made this 3 times; it has become our go to soup this winter. Having it again on Sunday night. Yumo as Rachel Ray would say. Paula would love it too. LOL

Sweet Pea Mockamole

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
Hmmm I'm wondering if I couldn't make this with a can of mushy peas? It would still need to be processed a bit, but I'm betting it would work.

Ham Bagels With Honey Mustard Cream Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2013
These are AWESOME!! When I started to make them, I realized I didn't have any dijon mustard, but I did have wholegrain mustard, so that's what I used. I only used about a tablespoon and a half and then added maybe an eighth of a tablespoon more of honey. Husband was wild about them. I toasted his bagel, but not mine. Great either way. A huge thumbs up on this recipe.

Fresh Fruit Flan

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
I don't go to all the trouble of making the flan base when I can buy a nice one in the grocery store. I make this a lot and we love it. If you can find pomegranite seeds, they are wonderful sprinkled over the top.
