Easiest Ever Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2014
We loved this fruit cobbler. Our teenage grandson who lives with us is a little picky about fruit desserts and he couldn't get enough of this. He likes it best with peaches, but we've also made it with cherries. I do reccomend pouring off a great deal of the liquid. Don't really need all that juice with the melted butter. BUT, as it sets up, it does get thicker so leave the juice if you want. i've made it three times in the last couple of weeks. Awesome.

Pumpkin Bread IV

We always add a cup of chopped pecans. And to the lady who found it dry after rescaling to a 2lb loaf, don't blame the recipe, the problem is what you did with it. I've been making this for 40+ years and have never had it turn out bad. The first recipe I used, used 1 lb. coffee cans to make it. Don't mess around with a recipe and then blame the recipe when it goes wrong.

Old-Fashioned Chicken and Noodles

It sounds delicious, but I'm confused: how do you make chickpea sized noodles? Two different shapes.

Roasted Okra

Has anyone tried using thawed, frozen okra? I live in Ireland, only Asian and Middle Eastern stores carry fresh okra.

Deluxe Corned Beef Hash

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
But can I just say this is not what the Irish eat on Patrick's day? They eat bacon and cabbage. Not bacon like a slice of bacon but a round of bacon. Or a joint of bacon. Having said that, this is a great recipe. Very tasty.

Beef Tips and Noodles

I grew up eating this without the soups and mushrooms. It's one of my favorite meals in the whole world. Can't wait to try it with soups and mushrooms added.

Pumpkin Cheese Bread II

The directions mention folding in the pecans, but there are none in the list of ingredients. One cup or more/less??

Zesty Summer Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
Someone said they couldn't find ground coriander, so they added cilantro. It's the same thing. Cilantro grows from coriander seeds, it's the leaf of the coriander plant. As someone else said, not enough sauce. I'll try it again.

Homemade Wine Coolers

Reviewed: May 23, 2013
I only gave it four stars because I'm looking for something like Seagrams wine coolers, in specific, Wild Berries. Anybody got a recipe for this? I've only found 1 decent wine cooler in Ireland.

Sweet Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2013
My mom use to make this for us without the egg or vanilla. She put nutmeg or cinnomon on top and we just called it thickened milk. We loved it for breakfast. My sister and I still love it for breakfast.

Almond Carrots

Yummy. For Adriana, the lady who didn't like the oregano/almond combination, it might be because you were suppose to use dried BASIL not oregano. Try it again with the right ingredients, you might like it.

Ham Bagels With Honey Mustard Cream Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2013
These are AWESOME!! When I started to make them, I realized I didn't have any dijon mustard, but I did have wholegrain mustard, so that's what I used. I only used about a tablespoon and a half and then added maybe an eighth of a tablespoon more of honey. Husband was wild about them. I toasted his bagel, but not mine. Great either way. A huge thumbs up on this recipe.

I used to make this years ago, but without the Cool Whip. Just used the soda and sweetened condensed milk. My favorite soda to use was A&W Root Beer. Just wonderful and everyone loved it. Sooo easy.

Fresh Fruit Flan

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
I don't go to all the trouble of making the flan base when I can buy a nice one in the grocery store. I make this a lot and we love it. If you can find pomegranite seeds, they are wonderful sprinkled over the top.

Jasmine's Brussels Sprouts

This is the way I make them except I leave out the boiling step. I cook the panchetta and garlic, cut the sprouts in half and throw them in the pan. Cook till just tender. Soooo good. Only way my family wants them.

Tartar Sauce I

I've been making this for years except I use dill relish instead of sweet, just as a personal preference. Why buy storebought when making it yourself is so quick and easy?

Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Grew up eating tuna fish and noodles, but we did not add peas or pimentos. Also, instead of bread crumbs, we buttered two slices of bread and tore them into pieces and covered the casserole top with them, buttered side up. They toast wonderfully in the oven and give it a nice crunch. My kids grew up with it too and now my grandsons are also. Yum!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

This was the best apple pie we have ever eaten. A friend had given me lots of apples from her trees and I used them in this recipe. I followed the recipe except that I used frozen (thawed) pie crust. It was just awesome !
