I made this recipe to accompany grilled chicken marinated in Trader Joe's Soyaki sauce so I was needing something a bit asian in flavor but still something my youngest would eat. This recipe was easy to make at the spur of the moment. It took only 15 minutes and the longest part was cleaning and slicing the mushrooms. I didn't have fresh garlic so made it without and everyone raved about this dish!! I will definitely make this again with lots of other entrees! It is flavorful but not overpowering so it will go well with many different things! Thank you for this recipe!!

I have to say that this is the first recipe from AllRecipes that I just did not really like and will not bake again...I did as others suggested and added 2 cups of flour rather than 1 1/2 and doubled the caramel middle but it just never came together into a tasty dessert. The bottom layer was greasy and the caramel was nonexistant and the milk chocolate topping was far too sweet. Maybe I'll like them more after they have rested overnight but for now I will not make them again!

Wow! And WOW again!! Last year I tried making another recipe from this site (titled "Homemade Fresh Pumpkin Pie") and was less than impressed, I almost gave up trying to make one but this fall I searched AllRecipes.com and found Mrs. Siggs recipe- The search is now over because I have found the BEST recipe ever for fresh homemade pumpkin pie!! I tried baking the pumpkin to get it soft enough to mash but after 1 1/2 hours it never got soft enough, the next night I tried my old standby, BOILING it and it worked great,I just made sure that I drained it thoroughly in my colander first. I followed the recipe exactly although I had to modify oven temperatures for my old and wacky oven that either gets too hot or not hot enough, my pie cooked at 440 at first and the 395 the rest of the time - thats just for me. I didnt have store bought pumpkin pie spice but the AllRecipes.com recipe for pumpkin pie spice (1T cinnamon, 1t nutmeg, 1t allspice and 1t ginger) was perfect. Dont fret if you dont have the storebought spice - use this mix once and you'll never buy it again from a store! I got rave reviews for this pie from family with ages 11-88 and cannot wait to make it again - it takes a while to go from uncut pumpkin to preparing to cooking to table but it is so worth the effort - Try it! My mouth waters just thinking about the pie I am going to make tomorrow!!

I have made this recipe on 4 occasions and each time it has been wonderful. Once I didn't have lemon so I could not add the recommended lemon juice but it didn't change the taste at all, so if you are also out of lemen - do not fear! One thing I have noticed is that the pineapple must really be pureed until there aren't big bits left in the blender/food processor as these float to the bottom of my ice cream maker tub and tend to freeze and cause the bottom of thei ice cream to be thicker. I do use my electric ice cream freezer/maker and it turns out just right every time. For a change sometimes, I have added orange/peach/mango juice from Trader Joes instead of regular OJ and the taste is still great - This recipe is now a favourite for me when I have guests as it is very easy but appears fancy and hard to do! Perfect!!
