Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
This is an amazing salad! I served at a dinner party with only 2 changes: I used red onion in place of the green onion, and I used Girard's Light Champagne salad dressing. My guests LOVED this recipes, and so did I!

Deluxe Mashed Potatoes

Fantastic and easy - follow the recipe as is or use garlic salt in place of onion salt. I served this at a dinner party and it was a huge hit!

Creamy Blueberry Pie

A very good, solid blueberry pie. Something just seemed slightly off to me.

My family and I didn't love the flavor of this dish. It was a little too tangy and overwhelming.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
This is simply a fantastic recipe! I made this for a casual dinner party and served over warm hoagie rolls. Everyone loved it, and every single person asked for the recipe. This is a great way to serve a large number of people without spending hours in the kitchen!

Grilled Gruyere and Roasted Vegetable Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
Great sandwich! We used thicker sandwich rolls and grilled them in the panini press. These had real restaurant flavor and went great with soup.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
This had good flavor but turned out too watery/runny for our taste. I would have preferred a thicker marinade.

Jalapeno Snacks

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
These snacks had great flavor, but the bacon took quite a bit longer to cook than indicated. I doubled cooking time and my guests still found the bacon to be slightly undercooked. I would suggest broiling until bacon is browned.

Zucchini and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
Great recipe! I would bake on cookie sheet covered in tin foil for easy cleanup. Keep the vegetable mixture in a thin layer for even crisping. I would use crushed or minced garlic as opposed to sliced garlic for more even distribution. I used Italian seasoned bread crumbs and think it would be great with some parmesan cheese as well.

Hot and Sour Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
This was fantastic! I used cooked cubed chicken as I was in a hurry, and it still turned out great. Perfect amount of spiciness with a real kick, but not enough to really bother most people. We didn't care for the flavor of the cilantro garnish with the soup, but it was still fantastic.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
This is a great recipe for what it is - a healthier version of refried beans. Of my family of 4, 2 of us like it, 2 don't. I think it is worthwhile to keep in my rotation as it is so much better than canned beans, and I don't want to make the high-fat lard-laden version.
