Sugarless Fruitcake

Very good. Dense and delicious, plenty sweet just as written. Thanks! I didn't soak the berries for an hour, just as I prepped the other ingredients and that worked just fine. Like others, I had to bake mine for longer, but that is to be expected as oven temps vary and it is quite moist.

Apricot Sausages

They're good, and I would make them again. But I was expecting a little more I guess. I had split reviews with my family, some (like me) saying they are still just breakfast sausages, but they did all disappear. (the sausages that is).

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Fantastic! I think I just made one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had! A real hit at my party. Thanks for sharing! On a separate note, I also baked in a water bath. No crack and wonderful creamy texture.

Easy Ham and Cheese Appetizer Sandwiches

They were good, but not great. I made all the spread (using maybe 1/3 cup grated onion), but then used 3/4 of it on the 2 doz dinner rolls. They were still pretty greasy and soggy. My guests ate them but there were no rave reviews and I had leftovers. They're okay, but I don't think I will make them again.

Sugar 'n' Spice Nuts

Wonderful! Made them just as written and everyone loved them. The orange is a nice addition. I just dumped mine on waxed paper to cool and had no problems with sticking or clean up. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Brussels Sprouts with Mushrooms

Great recipe, thanks! Of course I already love Brussels sprouts and that helps, but this is a great way to prepare them. I made this for Thanksgiving and heard words like awesome around the table! I agree with others that it's important to not overcook Brussels sprouts. I always cut the largest ones in half and then steam the batch til tender and bright green. Mmmmn.

Sweet Potato Salad

I was looking for a sweet potato dish without all the extra sugar. While this one is different from the usual s.p. dishes, it definitely is nothing special. Rather bland (& soupy) prepared as directed. Served it for Thanksgiving and NO one liked it. Its just not for me, I'm still on the search.

Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad

Ooh, great! I just had it for the first time at a party so was really happy to come across this recipe. My family loved it too and I'll be serving it often. I agree with others that it doesn't hold up well after its been tossed, so make only as much as you think you'll eat. (Which was easy in my case because they ate the whole thing!)

Beefy Mushroom Barley Soup

Loved it! I've made this several times, using beef shank, browned and simmered til tender. I also added wine when simmering the beef, and increased the barley & broth, but no substantial changes necessary to this awesome soup. I'll be making it all winter, thanks!

Great recipe! I too prefer the nuts to be a little crisper (oven-toasted), but you can't beat the ease of this recipe. The batch I made was eaten up in no time that same day! Thanks for sharing Mom's recipe.
